After topping the bill at the prestigious festivals ProgPower USA and Up The Hammers in Greece, Conception is next set to headline Thunder Metal Fest in Belgium before embarking on a European tour in April next year. Always selling out shows at Black Box in Gjøvik, a town still called home, the band once again gets warmed up at this intimate club right by the shores of Mjøsa, Norway’s biggest fjord.
One of Norway’s forerunners on the Metal scene, Conception, has had a busy year. So far, Roy Khan (vocals), Ingar Amlien (bass), Arve Heimdal (drums) and guitarist Tore Østby had overwhelming response at shows in Oslo, Atlanta, Athens, and the latter’s hometown of Stockholm, Sweden.
"State Of Deception - deluxe version" was released by the band’s own label in June, as a triple CD version, and contains live material recorded at previous shows at Black Box (also known as Friscena), while world renowned label BMG released Conception’s back catalogue in September, remastered and with bonus material, both digitally, as CD digipaks, and colored vinyls.
Arve Heimdal: «Performing at Friscena is always a special experience for both us and the fans, who travel from all parts of the world to see us in an intimate and unique setting. To offer these amazing music lovers something positive, memorable and fullfilling, once again we plan events in coordination with the show.»
Joining Conception are Aurora Heimdal (guest vocals) and Lars Andre Kvistum on keyboards.
We are pleased to invite you all to Gjøvik’s Black Box on 11. March.
