With the launch of the third album just about to come out, Mànran sound different but still very good! They are one of the few Scottish folk bands that in my opinion are with the times and appeal to a young audience as well as old. It was fantastic to see them again.
Attended the Dougie MacLean concert on the 20th October at Milngavie Town Hall. The venue was excellent and well organised and run. There was no bar, due to a late withdrawal, I presume by the license holder, but didn't do anything to detract to the concert for me.
The Friel Sisters were the support act and they put on a good show with vibrant and energising music.
Dougie himself was not what I would say at 100%, what with a couple of stutters and stops during his performance, but he was still a great performer and had the audience eating out of his hand and singing along with gusto!
A good night out with some excellent entertainment.
