Tour name: Bird's Robe 15th Birthday Tour
Doors open: 14:30

Australian music company Bird’s Robe will wrap up their 15th anniversary celebrations in Melbourne with a massive show at Max Watts on Saturday 13 December.

Headlining the last of three Melbourne events are post-rock legends sleepmakeswaves, playing their first shows of 2025, alongside American alternative rock icons …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, returning to Australia for the first time in over a decade.

The day kicks off at 2.30pm and showcases a dynamic lineup from the Bird’s Robe family. Highlights include Melbourne rock trailblazers Closure in Moscow, a prog feast from Toehider & Anubis, pummelling post-metal from Myriad Drone & Echotide, and rare live appearances from Kodiak Empire & the theremin-fuelled psych explorations of Sydney’s Svntax Error.

The show will also feature artist signings, merch giveaways and a competitive table tennis competition.

Bird’s Robe has long been a launchpad for some of Australia’s most acclaimed post-rock and progressive artists, including sleepmakeswaves, We Lost The Sea, Closure in Moscow, Toehider, Meniscus, The Crooked Fiddle Band, Troldhaugen, and Solkyri, among others.

Director Mike Solo says:

'Ten years ago, on Saturday5 December in 2015, a bunch of bands playing post-rock, prog, metal and alternative rock got together at Manning Bar in Sydney, Australia to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Bird’s Robe Records. It was awesome.

Since then, we’ve crossed the globe many more times, survived a global pandemic and come out the other side with even more talent to showcase from our little niche. So please join us to relive the memories, create new ones & celebrate an epic ride of prog, post rock, and otherwise innovative music with our friends & family.

If you’ve never had the chance to see some of these bands, we hope our efforts to bring them all together in the one place make for a worthy day/night of entertainment.

Enjoy!'
