DJ Quicksilver has been active in the techno industry for around 20 years, and after a hiatus, is now back and performing various, but limited, shows. He was one of the best DJs I’ve seen perform live, so if you do get a chance to see one of his returning performances before he goes back to his retirement, I strongly advise that you do so! His track Bellissima that he first achieved success with was the track that he used to open his show, and he had the entire audience jumping up and down, and singing along to the incredibly well known track. Although his expression is somewhat deadpan, he was great at calling out to the audience to get more incolved and sing along whilst he was mixing his tracks and scratching the decks.
You don’t realise until you see a DJ perform live the intense concentration and skill that it takes, and this was especially evident in his track New Life, where he was continuously altering sound scopes, and mixing the song, constantly trying to perfect the sound. As well as playing his original tracks from the albums, he also shared with us some of his mixes of popular songs which kept the audience engaged and kept everyone dancing. When he played Boombastic, which sampled the Shaggy track, everyone erupted into applause, and rushed as close as possible to the DJ booth to dance around Quicksilver.
