Mehmet Ergin and Mehmet Ergin / Johannes Huth Duo

Guitarist Mehmet Ergin, born in Istanbul, combines elements of world music, jazz, and classical music in his chamber music-style compositions. He has worked with renowned artists such as Rolf and Joachim Kühn, Albert Mangelsdorff, Trilok Gurtu, and Stu Goldberg.

His album “Beyond the Seven Hills,” released internationally by Universal, was nominated for the Echo Jazz Award in the category “Best Jazz Production.” Other releases have received awards such as “CD of the Week” on Klassik Radio and have been featured in the World Music Charts of Musikwoche.

Together with his long-time musical partner Martin Gjakonovski on double bass, he presents works from his current album “The Levent Diary” as well as selected pieces from earlier productions.
