Metal is a genre of music that really needs to be watched live, rather than on recordings, because the performance that the instrumentalists put into their shows is incredible, and the way that I, The Breather manipulate their instruments to play incredible solos in absolutely mind blowing. They came out on stage to the loudest applause I’ve ever been involved in welcoming a band, and stood with their backs to the audience as the overture played before launching into the show with their track High Rise. Every band member, of course apart from Aaron Ovecka on drums, was jumping around the stage and head banging like mad, hyping up the audience, and getting us all to join in with their enthusiastic performance.
Every instrumentalist played a solid solo, and whilst they were demonstrating the extent of their talents, everyone else was dancing along, and shouting out to the crowd to get involved. The show lasted for almost 2 hours, and they maintained their energy and dedication from start to finish without losing their momentum once. It was incredible seeing how comfortable they were with their music, the way that they played absolutely full out without any mistakes. They played a great selection of tracks from over the years, and when they played Come Home, they had everyone singing the chorus, as they held out the microphone to us, which was absolutely incredible.
