Country Roads at ACanteen monthly shows continue with the best in live and original Country and Americana music
Headliner - Gina Larner (duo performance)
Described as “phenomenal” (Overtone Magazine) and “a firebrand fusion of rock and pop” (The Bristol Gig Guide), Brighton-born singer/songwriter Gina Larner, mixes influences of Debbie Harry, Kate Bush and Alanis Morrisette in “a marvellous celebratory sound mixing Country sounds with big bombastic almost revivalist meeting enthusiasm” (W21Music).
Her powerful vocals, sharp storytelling and distinctive edge have marked her as one of the UK’s most compelling rising performers.
Special guests - April Moon (Canadian Duo)
Combining irresistibly charming, boot-stompin’ tunes with intertwined twangy and jangly guitars, powerful vocal harmonies and a kick drum made from an old suitcase, Jaime April and Jason Moon make up the Canadian duo APRIL MOON. Growing up on the wild prairies beside the North Saskatchewan River, the pair learned early that hitting the open road was a necessity to travel the vast distances between venues.
They haven’t put down roots since, splitting their time between several countries and cruising from gig to gig in their beloved campervan, affectionately known as The Clubhouse.
Spotlight Opener - El-RY Blue (duo)
This rather fabulous duo comprises Noel Gander on guitar and vocals, and Gary Choules on Double Bass, percussion and backing vocals. This is a real treat – a mixture of original and well-chosen covers songs, Noel and Gary threaten to “chill your spirit and rattle your bones “ in the best possible way.
