André Dalcan, M.a.d.s., and The Reflex

Classics are classics for a reason; they are memorable, catchy, soul touching, and sometimes all three. Some people like them left alone to be just the way they were originally created, but others appreciate when new life is brought into them, especially when they are done well. One of the best remixers of both the most memorable songs and modern popular songs is Nicolas Laugier, aka The Reflex.
Because he has put his own spin on so many songs, he plays a lot of electronic dance music festivals. However, unlike some repetitively tedious EDM live sets, there is a certain twist that makes The Reflex’s live sets much more engaging and fun. This is mostly in part due to every one being able to recognize all of the songs, sing along or appreciate the songs they grew up on. When he spins his live sets, he isn’t like other DJs, in that he is very laidback. The meticulous attention that he brings to his table, coupled with him taking breadths from his cigarette between changes makes him seem like an overall too cool for school, yet personable guy. While you watch him, you see that he uses his influences and mixes them with his emotions to produce the remixes.
