Lonestar is an American country music group currently consisting of Michael Britt, Richie McDonald, Keech Rainwater and Dean Sams who formed in 1992.

Lonestar is a celebrated American country music group that captured global attention with

their timeless ballad “Amazed,” a crossover sensation that spent 9 weeks at No. 1 on the

country charts and 2 weeks at No. 1 on the pop charts. Known for blending heartfelt

storytelling with a polished pop-country sound, the band—comprised of Dean Sams,

Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, and Drew Womack—has left an indelible mark on the

genre boasting a staggering 22 top ten singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart,

including 10 that reached No. 1.

Their meteoric rise began in 1995 with the top 5 single “Tequila Talking,” followed by No. 1

hits like the rock-tinged “No News,” “Come Cryin’ to Me,” and “Everything’s Changed.”

The release of their quadruple-platinum 1999 album Lonely Grill cemented their legacy,

delivering four No. 1 singles and showcasing their knack for emotionally resonant, radio friendly songs.

Lonestar’s success has earned them widespread acclaim and numerous accolades,

including Academy of Country Music awards for New Vocal Group, Single and Song of the

Year, and Humanitarian of the Year. They were also honored with the Country Music

Association’s Vocal Group of the Year and International Artist Achievement Award.

With more than 10.5 million records sold worldwide, Lonestar stands as one of country

music’s most enduring and influential bands, continuing to inspire fans with their heartfelt

Live reviews

Lonestar originate from Nashville and they have been going since 1992; a staggering twenty- two years of country music. ‘Smile’, ‘Amazed’, ‘Come Cryin’ To Me’ and ‘What About Now’ are some of Lonestar’s earlier number one hits. Within a few seconds of ‘Amazed’, Michael Britt (lead guitarist) was sweep picking and tapping on his guitar, which gave this song an edge, as I was in the crowd watching them live; Keech Rainwater (drummer) was slowly trembling the cymbals of the drums. The notes Dean Sam (keyboard) was playing blended perfectly. Then Richie McDonald (lead vocals) walked forward and the crowd screamed, as he started singing with his smooth, mid tempo voice. Every song rendered with sincere emotion at this acoustic concert.
Later, during this concert, the four guys were still on stage, sitting down as if it was an impromptu music concert in your own living room and I was blow away by the sheer professionalism of how they deliver their sound. Cool. Melodic. Sensuous and of it’s time.
Even though their music is country it’s also soulful, which drew me in because of the lyrics and the audience had a personal connection with them, including me. I felt I was attending my own personal concert, as it felt that they interacted and engaged with me through a visual connection. Whilst all that my arms were swaying slowly from side to side. It was a memorable experience. Their performance is so magical! You have to be there, the atmosphere, ambience, overall sensation is one not to be missed.
