I have never seen Kosmikud alive nor i have never been in Rock Cafe before this Saturday night. We went there with my ladyfriend who was having a birthday the same day. So the settings were quite perfect for smth fresh and new experiences. 1st band, Viikate was alright.i have seen then few times, as they were from my home country Finland. Good set it was, and their favourite song "routaisten peltojen pehtoorit"was played right at the beginning. Rest was pretty much the same, quality and stylish metallish twang-guitar oriented melancholy with dark humour on lyrucs. Crowd seem to like it. Though majority of them were expecting the leading band, Kosmikud. When they finally started the tone went straight into deeper psychedelic sense of mood. The vibe kept very strong all through the very end, and the band was feeling good playing together. I have to say i didnt understand all the lyrics but the singing and their music hits me immiedentily in the guts. I was a totally knocked out of the sound variations, the multiple hooks on malladies and went straight afterwards to buy the vinyl album "Öö ei lase magada" 2001, to bring back home. Moody and strong atmosphere lasted and even kept coming stronger. I like the way took the audience without being too obvioius or polite. Singer dressed on a stripe stipe velvet dark suit and a appearance from the 60's beat happenings was really charismatic leading man, together with strongly participating drummer and bass player. Two guitarists and keyboardist also filled their places well. Pleasure and amusement were heard through music. I cant say if there is anything like this in Finland. Some people compare Kosmikud to C.M.X. which is a little bit of understatemet. If you think the present day and not the earlier albums, Kolmikärki or Veljeskunta. Kosmikud still makes music that challenges listeners. Not much similar can be said about C.M.X.The whole gig lasted over two hour and never went boring. Lightnings were the only minus and luckily we didnt suffer epilepsia because theyd cause seizures for sure. All and all the band should get more name from here in Finland, the music is so timeless, it could have been heard even back in the seventies, yet it has elements and imagination to last long after two-thousand-fifties. Future belongs to these gentlemen. I definetily will seek for their forthcoming album. The Rock Cafe was also good place to enjoy bands. It reminded me of late Lepakkoluola from Helsinki. Very special night for us. Thank you Kosmikud, i am your fan.
