On Sunday November 15, LantarenVenster and BIRD bring SML to Rotterdam. The five-piece from Los Angeles moves effortlessly between jazz, electronics and psychedelic grooves, tight, free-flowing and impossible to stand still to.

With Anna Butterss on bass, Josh Johnson on sax, Jeremiah Chiu on keys, Booker Stardrum on percussion and Gregory Uhlmann on guitar, SML builds long, layered live tracks that constantly shift and evolve. Warm improvisation, subtle electronics and grooves that slowly pull you in.

After their debut Small Medium Large, the band played festivals around the world. On last year’s How You Been, SML sounds even sharper, looser and more adventurous. Later this summer they’ll also play North Sea Jazz, on November 15 they bring that same energy to LantarenVenster.
