Hey everyone, mark your calendars for August 15th at The Showdown. It’s going to be a great night of music, and I’m really happy to share the stage with the incredibly talented Adam Faucett. Adam has a fantastic new record out that you absolutely need to hear—his songwriting is top-tier, and honestly, he might just steal the show, so get there early.
As for my set, I’ve managed to convince a powerhouse group of musicians to back me up for the night. We’ll be debuting a bunch of songs from my upcoming album, The Lucky House, testing out some other brand-new tracks, and digging up a few old favorites from the catalogue.
To make sure I don't mess these new songs up, I'm bringing in the heavy artillery. If you know Pacific Northwest music, these guys need no introduction, but I like to brag about them anyway:
Luther Russell (Drums): My brilliant co-conspirator and the producer behind The Lucky House. When he isn't making me look good, he's fronting Those Pretty Wrongs and The Freewheelers.
Dan Eccles (Guitar): The longtime sonic wizard from Richmond Fontaine. He handles the searing guitar work that keeps things exciting.
Paul Brainard (Pedal Steel/Guitar): A master multi-instrumentalist who has lent his legendary pedal steel skills to everyone from Richmond Fontaine to Alejandro Escovedo and The Decembrists.
Freddy Trujillo (Bass): The rock-solid groove keeping us all anchored. Aside from his own great solo work, you know him from holding down the low end for The Delines.
It’s a rare treat to get this specific crew in the same room, let alone on the same stage, to push these new arrangements around. Come hang out, hear the new tunes, and grab a drink with us. See you there!
