I have been to concerts with Mel Parsons fronting her band in a much larger venue and she was great but this much more intimate concert was another dimension. Mel is a great story teller and always connects with her audience. She is actually quite hilarious talking between numbers, (she could do observational stand-up and be famous) though this being a Kiwi audience the response was restrained as you would expect. She has so many strengths across the board, musically, instrumentally, audience connection, stage presence, lyrically that I could not and would not fault her performance. I would call her a National Treasure but that would limit her. She is bigger than that and a thoroughly relatable person at the same time. I could not have thought of a better way to spend a Sunday evening. Thanks
