Canadian metal band Counterparts have been playing music together since 2007 and have been traveling internationally to perform their songs live for their fans. The band has had a bit of a roster change since their first inception, but the band currently consists of lead vocalist Brendan Murphy, guitarists Jesse Doreen and Adrian Lee and drummer Kelly Bilan.
Having had the opportunity to watch their live set, I can honestly say that their live performance is an experience worth having. The venue was a bit small, and the stage was really only a foot higher than the ground, but I think that that only added to the experience. Right off the bat, the band immediately starts playing their first song as soon as they pick up their instruments. They have a ridiculous energy that is rivaled by the energy of their fans. Speaking of fans, the band knows exactly what the fans want from them, and know how to play their part: midway through just the first song, Brendan Murphy jumps into the crowd to do some crowd surfing, an act that is completely supported by the fans. Another example of how the small venue made the experience better, because I really don’t think he would have made it back onto the stage with the timing that he did
