It goes without saying that Al Cameron and Roy Malloy are the hottest act in showbiz. But let me tell you friends this show was something else, a reeeaaaaal slice. Played some old tunes and played them darn well and gave us some new ones as well. I'll tell ya what this was a good time, fun show, and all the rest. Catch these boys if you can.

You need to see your new favourite band the Wave Pictures. Although they’re British, you’ll hear a cross between US artists Jonathan Richman, Bob Dylan and Townes Van Zandt, with a little British indie thrown in too (think Suede and The Smiths), and some afrobeat guitars.

They live for playing live. For over 10 years they’ve spent most of their time on the road. It’s where they write their songs, and perfect their live show. No two Wave Pictures gigs are the same. They don’t tour the same old setlist to promote new “product”. The setlist changes every night, chosen on the night by the band. Even if they have new music out, they’re likely to play some newer unreleased material, plus plenty of old crowd favourites.

They’re expert musicians, particularly guitarist/singer David Tattersall. Expect fun solos from all three in the band. But don’t think David will do as others do and change guitars and strings during the night, or use guitar pedals. He’ll play his one guitar, as is, all night, no frills. Even a lack of microphones doesn’t stop them - in fact some songs they’ll play deliberately without mikes, making for unique intimate moments.
