The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra

As part of her 50th anniversary season as a concert violinist, Carnegie Hall audience favorite Anne-Sophie Mutter joins the Munich Philharmonic as soloist in Brahms’s Violin Concerto. One of the most in-demand pieces in the repertoire, Mutter’s performance of the virtuosic staple is called “intense … soaringly beautiful … [and] unfailingly intelligent” (NPR). Led by its newly appointed Chief Conductor Lahav Shani, the orchestra also treats listeners to Bruckner’s transcendent “Romantic” Symphony, one of the pinnacles of 19th-century music.
