Expect sophisticated and elegant swinging bass playing from internationally acclaimed artist Kristin Korb while she sings with a crystal-clear singing voice.

Considered by many to be the father of jazz bass, Ray Brown was more than that. He combined the walking lines of Walter Page and the soloing ideas of Oscar Pettiford and made jazz bass playing what it is today.

Ray worked with everyone. From Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie to Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, and more. His bass lines were foundational and made everything swing with warmth and a drive like no other.

Ray was also known as a mentor to young musicians.

I was fortunate enough to be one of his students. The Vocal Side of Ray Brown is a curated program that includes some of my favorite treasures from his songbook, songs inspired by lessons I learned from him, and some original gems that you might not have heard before.
