Weedeater

The weedeater show was as awesome as expected. The Ace Of Cups venue in Columbus Ohio is one of my favorites in town. The opening bands were killer,especially Black Wizard. We got pictures and handshakes with dave and shep also. Very good show

There’s no real shortage of ways, in the internet era, to help raise your band’s profile, and for ASG, the way in which they’ve gone about it - intentionally or otherwise - is definitely one of the less conventional; they now have a cult following in the world of extreme sports, particularly surfing, skateboarding and snowboarding, thanks to the fact that their songs have commonly been used in highlights reels involving those disciplines on YouTube. The band hail from Wilmington, North Carolina - the acronym of their name comes from the fact that their original moniker, All Systems Go, was challenged on copyright grounds by another group - and their hard rock style really comes to life on stage; Jason Shi is an impressively compelling frontman; aggressive, often visceral, in his performance style, but also capable of perfectly replicating his recorded vocals onstage. Their most recent tour, in support of last year’s Blood Drive record, saw them playing marathon, career-spanning sets in some of the biggest rooms of their career to date; their star certainly seems in the ascendancy.
