Gilla Band

Saw them supporting Slint (no pressure there, then) at The Brudenell in Leeds a couple of years ago. They set up on the floor in front of the stage, and simply exploded. I've not seen such ferocity and excitement since watching The Jesus Lizard or Silverfish (one for the old heads). Incredible guitar work, and a thunderous, metronomic, sparse rhythm section, with breathtaking vocals from Dara Kiely. They seem a lovely bunch of lads, which makes the colossal noise seem even more threatening. See this band soon, before they go old/deaf and mellow out a bit.

Incredible, Intense, Epic. Probably the best gig I've ever been to. The walls were sweating by the time they left the stage, everyone was exhausted. It was amazing. These guys are definitely onto something, and on the back of their recent record deal it really feels like it was the last time we were going to see them in such an intimate venue. Would go again.

Jesus Christ, it was amazing. One of the most chaotic shows I've ever been to. I also met Dara and M(h)aol before the concert. They are the nicest people ever! This band is amazing, so unique!
