I have been waiting my whole life to see this show. What an perfect night it was to be in the pit. Jack is such a down to earth person; it was like the crowd was just hanging out with him and his band. He played all of his most popular songs and asked the crowd for requests quite a bit! He also played a couple of songs that he had been recently working on, a song he wrote about Willie Nelson, and a few songs with some neat instruments that they use in a lot of their songs (and of course, the accordian). I am so glad I was in the pit- tickets for seating were the same price! 100% of the proceeds for his merchandise sold at his shows (which is made of 100% organic cotton amd ink- and is extremely soft) is donated to charity, and his foundation. The Ohana Foundation is a large part of what is funded. This foundation funds children in need, primamrily. I know that Jack cares a lot about the environment, and carbon emission offsets were used in part of ticket fees as well. His stage decor included sea trash in strung-up lighted mason jars! How cool. Apparently, between the opener (the Bahamas), Jack was hanging out at a booth, playing some songs (which, sadly, I missed). What I would do to meet Jack and talk to him about my passion for the environment! Not to mention, his voice was perfect, and you could tell how much fun he and his bandmates (friends) were having. It was surely a night to remember ("do you remember?") :) thanks for the love, Jack. Until next time! Glad I could be part of kicking off your first tour in awhile with you. <3
Born and raised in Hawaii, it’s no real surprise Jack Johnson is such a chiller. But there’s a unique delicacy and warmth to his soft, acoustic rock that has justifiably shot him to stardom, and melted hearts the world over in the process.
Forced out of the water by a surfing accident at the age of 17, Johnson soon found refuge behind a guitar, with his early life experiences crafting his sundrenched, tender and youthful sound. Indeed, it’s the honesty and transparency of his music that makes an evening with Jack Johnson so special. Often found on stage solo, just man and guitar, Jack’s charming music breeds intimacy - making the world’s largest arenas feel like the smallest beach huts. Like a good pina colada, Jack Johnson is best enjoyed with friends, so grab some buddies and head for the front row for a good singalong!
Over the course of seven records, Johnson’s trajectory has seen him headline festivals across the globe, but, admirably, his connection to Hawaii has always remained strong. A strong involvement in the Kokua Festivals helped raise funds and awareness for environmental education in Hawaii, whilst in April 2012 Jack set out on a seven date tour of the Hawaiian islands. Right on, Jack.
A Beautiful night, Jack is always a great experience you don't want to miss.
The simple melodies set your soul at ease. The band played all the favorites with just a touch of the new album. The arrangements flowed beautifully. Jack not only sings his story, He shares them so intimately during the show, you want to invite his family to dinner! They spoke briefly about Keeping our oceans free of plastic and the lovely display of lights that surrounded the crowd and stage, are actually small pieces of plastic found in the ocean he surfs in Hawaii. The band is always warm and engaging. The Bahamas Joined the guys on stage for a beautiful tribute to Tom Petty. Amazing night under the full moon. Thanks Jack!
This is the fourth time I have seen Jack live and he never
disappoints me. This time I was able to take my 8 year old daughter which made the experience all the more enjoyable and meaningful.
Blossom is such a beautiful venue. Combine that along
With the positive energy that Jack fans create and you will understand why his fans are so loyal.
I look forward to taking both my girls to see him in Santa Barbara. An experience I'm sure all of us will enjoy
This was a great show. Jack brought the energy and engaged the audience very well. I liked his setlist and was happy he did not play many songs from his forthcoming album as the audience wouldn't have known those songs.
My only complaint is the general admission format. It penalizes people who have to come from work and gives them no chance to get a good seat. In fact, we had to rush to get there just to make sure we would have any seat at all.
I went both nights. I feel bad for the people who only got to see the first show. Don't get me wrong, but Friday was a 2 1/2 hour wonderful love fest performance and was absolutely phenomenal. Jack dissed the Thursday crowd early, referencing the lack of crowd support singing/involvement, then tried to backtrack...didn't work. My suggestion is to sing loud and you'll get the great show...sit on your hands and you're going home early.
This was the sweetest most laid back concert I've been to. I loved every second of it! A lot of people(including some friends of mine) arrived late due to traffic, so at the end he came back out to play more music for them. I love how much he loves the ocean, nature, and just people in generalm. I would recommend his concerns to anyone! <3
This was one of the best shows in my life. Jack Johnson brought out all the major hits in the form of medleys at the beginning. The artwork in the background was mind blowing. The rest of the band was great as expected and greater by improvising and making well known songs slightly different for a live scenario. Wow!
Great summer concert! Jack Johnson played all his best music, brought out special guests and friends to play some of their own original music, covered a few songs, notably Sublime's Badfish and Boss DJ, and also brought out the opening act, Lake Street Dive, during his encore.
Jack was amazing as usual. He was made to perform live, and he and his band are so talented. Best concert I've been to, fun for all ages. This venue was perfect for him and it was all good vibes. Great sound and good views from all seats. Would love to see him again!
