The AU Review -
Sydney’s Indie Rock/Blues artist Nathan Cavaleri has recently released his new single “Demons”. The result of a period of personal confrontation and struggle, “Demons” is a striking mix of psychedelic guitar, and swampy riffs, and the next step in an already distinguished, (albeit perhaps unheralded) career.
There have been highs; at the age of twelve Cavaleri was at the centre of a label bidding war, at sixteen he’d toured with B.B. King and played at the Kennedy Centre in front of The Clintons, with Etta James and Bonnie Raitt. But, there have also some struggles, in 2010, following a battle with insomnia and anxiety, Cavaleri took four years out to regain his confidence and drive. It was during these years that “Demons”, and his forthcoming EP, began to take shape.
Wow! I took my 14yr old son and his best mate to see Nathan play at the Wheatsheaf, a lovely intimate gig. The boys are both budding guitarists and were blown away by the performance. Such a skillful player who took us on a great journey... with both his music and stories. From tender quite moments where you could hear a pin drop to foot stomping swampy blues, this boy seriously rocks! Thanks Nathan, you inspired my son massively! Do not miss seeing Nathan and his mate Kenny who have such great chemistry on stage, a really top night
