Yukon Blonde played to an appreciative Kelowna crowd showcasing their recent dual EP Crazy and Emotional Blackmail along with a few songs from their upcoming album before closing with some obvious fan favorites. The songs from the dual EP seem to have already garnered an appreciative following and the band continued to stretch their boundaries with new songs featuring a funky tune lead by James Younger and a melodic ballad featuring Brandon Scott. No wonder the band's four and five part harmonies are such a defining feature in YB's music. The individual members can all sing very well. The new songs presented this evening continue to have the band's catchy melodies and trademark harmonies.( Looking forward to the new albums release.) The band rounded up their performance with a rocking rendition of Saturday Night highlighted by Graham Jones' blistering drum solo bringing an appreciative roar from the crowd. After that, Jeff Innes had the crowd on their feet partying with the band through the final two songs, My Girl and Favorite People. A rousing finale by a talented band having as much fun as their audience.
A good old fashioned rock show. Lees has a great effect on any show. But Yukon Blonde rocked out hard. Intimate but electric. And a pretty good Bowie tribute. As far as those things go. One overlong synth solo (tough to justify in any situation) but that hardly tips the scales. On and On as opener was pretty good. Humble and good energy and a drumline you could bop to. All one can hope in an openening act.
The opening act On and On was an hour late getting on stage. And then played a mellow low energy set.
Then it took forever for Yukon Blonde to set up.
The wife and I were so disappointed and annoyed by then that we went across the street to a pub instead.
They hade live music on the go and we could sit down and relax.
We should have left earlier.
yukon blonde gave a great performance at lincoln hall in chicago. they have an infectious energy that radiates to the audience. their somgs are catchy and great to sing to. if u havent seen these guys, you are really missing out on something special.
Amazing intamite show at Lee's Palace in Toronto. Yukon Blonde played their best material; old and new. All members showcased talent along with flawless 5 part harmonies. They are a must see for any indie rock fans. On an on were fantastic too.
Great show at the Rock House but way too short. The band only played for an hour. For the cost of the ticket I would have expected at least 90 minutes of music.
