Scott Matthews

Scott Matthews is a singer from England. He isn't pinned to one specific genre, he plays a mix of quite a few including folk, folk rock, with a touch of blues. He is one of those rare performers that sounds better live than on album. The venues he chooses are anything from huge open spaces, to small, intimate ones. Regardless, the feel is very relaxed and friendly.

Scott Matthew's voice is very smooth, so smooth in fact you are liable to get goosebumps as you listen. The lyrics are very deep, without being cheesy or hard to understand. Most people can relate to the words he sings, especially as seen in his hit "Eyes Wider Than Before."His words seem so personal to you, very deep.

The audience sits quietly and listens intently to him. This holds true even on more upbeat songs such as his "Dream Song." Things especially quiet down during "Ballerina Lake." This song is very mysterious, and dives deep into your heart and makes you feel many things. His guitar playing is incredible, but seems so effortless. The chords are not repetitive like some, they seem rather complex, but he sails right through it.

Seeing a performance by Scott Matthews will keep you in awe, and the feeling will stay even after you leave.

A most en hanting evening.

After waiting 8 years for Scott Matthews to come to Denmark and play, it was with great expectations I went to Vega to hear Scott perform. And let me just say that ALL my expectations were fullfilled.
The musicianship and musicality of Scott in this intimate solo performance is seldom surpassed.
I had a great evening and definately a concert in my top 5 of all times. Thank you Scott, and the best news was that he will be back in May next year with his band.
Already looking forward to that....!

An exceptional two and a half hours filled with beautiful music played by four truly talented musicians. Scott Matthews distinctive vocals beautifully accompanied by bass, cello and percussion. I would, and have, recommend them unequivocally.
