It’s hard to believe that Synaethesia was released 16 years ago, but The Thrillseekers (Steve Helstrip) has remained right at the top of his game ever since. He leads the entire trance genre, and his mixes, original tracks, and DJ sets are sure to become legendary. His back catalogue of tracks is decorated with incredible collaborations with artists such as Tiesto, Sonique, and loads more, so I knew going to see him live, that I was in for a real treat.
He opened the show with a few original mixes, and then moved onto his album, Nightmusic Volume 1. It was awesome the way that he flawlessly transitioned between tracks of his own, and remixed covers. The balance of the bass and synths was perfect, and everyone was getting really into it and dancing non stop. He played Synaethesia around 2/3 of the way through the set, which seemed like the perfect position for it to sit, getting everyone completely buzzing for the final section of the show. There wasn’t one person in the venue standing still, and everyone was singing along to the catchy melody.
The concert lasted well over 2 hours, so t was incredible value for money as well! If he does a tour of volume 3, I’m definitely there
