Prior to forming Peking Duk, Styles had been the bassist in the Canberra rock band Rubycon, later winning the National Campus Band Competition in 2008. Hyde meanwhile honed his guitar and songwriting skills as a solo artist; having played and composed music from an early age. The pair teamed up in 2010 and made their debut single release “Bingo Trippin’” a year later in 2011. The single was succeeded the same year by “Welcome” featuring Stef K., however Peking Duk didn’t achieve their mainstream breakthrough until 2012 with their Passion Pit bootleg remix “Take A Walk”. Instantly becoming a staple of dance-orientated blogs around the world, the track catapulted the pair to notoriety both nationally and internationally.
Peking Duk subsequently released the singles “I Love to Rap” and “The Way You Are” both of which topped the ARIA Club Chart. Riding the wave of success, the duo toured successfully in support of Tiesto, Steve Aoki, and A-Trak in Australia, Asia, and North America. After placing fifth in InTheMix's Top 50 national competition in 2013, Peking Duk became the resident DJs for Triple J’s weekly DJ Mix on Saturday nights. The singles “You Are Like Nobody Else” featuring Swanky Tunes and “Feels Like” arrived in 2013 as did the compilation album “Viscious Cuts” showcasing Peking Duk and fellow artists on Vicious Records.
2014 marked the group’s most successful period with the 3x platinum single “High” featuring Nicole Millar and the 2x platinum single “Take Me Over” featuring SAFIA. Both singles charted within the Australia Singles Chart’s Top 10 and raised the profile of Peking Duk to household dance names in Australia.

I dont get to see many live bands. Peking Duk are a band that for the first performance I have seen for them being at the Australian State of Origin, they are a band which are a fusion of old fashioned rock and roll and modern jazz. Unique.
Probably the best concert I have been to in terms of price for the show. Amazing effects fun artists and heaps of entertainment before Peking Duk started. Got to the front of the Mosh pit and had one of the best nights of my life.
