Albert was sensational, as always. However, at least a few in the audience were so incredibly rude that I, most unfortunately, felt I had to leave, which I did. First, one gentleman turned around and asked me "Do you mind?". When I asked what he was referring to, he said it was my clapping (to the beat)! (I did stop.) Then, there were two guys right by me who insisted on talking loudly while showing each other photos, etc. on their phones and commenting on them. I asked if they could please lower their voices during the songs and they refused.
Albert Lee is one of those musicians I have been listening to most of my life...but didn't know it...a musician friend and mentor brought Albert Lee to my attention and now I catch him live whenever I can. He is a guitar wizard. Part of rock 'n roll (Everly Brothers) and Country history; if you like either genre, or just like to see a guy who knows music and his guitar intimately, treat yourself. But don't take my word for it, see what Eric Clapton has to say.
such a fantastic artist, guitarist, singer, and, in my experience, a lovely chap. First saw him live in Bristol (Fleece) approx late 1990s/ early 2000s and several times later in Bristol, Weston Super Mare and, when I missed him locally, drove to The Tivoli in Dorset and so well worth the trip, as always. I now have some new friends who I should love to be able to take to see him as have told them just how great he is.
A wonderful show for music lovers. Albert and his musicians are so talented, and I had a great time. Would like to see him perform again. He told us stories about the stars he performed with over the years. Albert is truly a master.
Viel Vergnügen und wartet auf bessere Klang im Zimmer, das nächste Mal glaubte, besser zu sein..
