The Puppini Sisters, made up of Marcella Puppini, Kate Mullins and Emma Smith, for the last ten years have been doing their A cappella, pop, jazz, swing music for almost ten years. They have made a number of television appearances including This Morning, Loose Women, The Alan Titchmarsh Show, Hells Kitchen and probably most notably, A Michael Buble Christmas. They have even performed at Glastonbury Festival 2009.
Watching them live is almost like stepping into the time machine, in fact if you manage to nip to the bathroom, send a text on your phone, go out side to make a phone call to be back in the room to have all your attention on the Puppini Sisters as they walk onstage, then you will definitely feel as though you have wound up somewhere in the 1940’s. Their presentation is stunning, always looking the part, their dancing is always on point and of course, their voices just take you straight back to that era.
Their set this evening consisted of “Jilted” which had the audience swing dancing immediately, and everyone had paired up. The lights looked dated in the best way possible too, casting all the right kinds of silhouettes around the room. It was a very new experience when they tackled a version of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” Definitely worth the watch if you want to go and experience a Prohibition night.
