The show was at an interesting place called the Irenic, which is this church-turned-small show venue. The demographic was mostly edgy high schoolers, making me feel a little bit..old? and out of place even though I'm 21. I wasn't a huge fan of the opening act, Slow Hollows, but their band seemed to have good chemistry and a lot of the kids seemed to be big fans. One thing I absolutely hated about the venue was that there was this weird platform in front of the stage. People started moshing (which was fucking weird considering Slow Hollows' music was just..like the name, slow...and unmoshable). Halfway through the set, I was struggling to stand on this platform and people started moshing so hard (still not sure why!!! TBH!) and people were literally FALLING back. It was dangerous, even though that's a part of moshing. It was a little irritating in dealing with kids moshing to probably the most unmoshable music and squeezing in between everyone to get to the front, but..I guess that's part of the experience. When Cherry Glazerr got on, they had awesome chemistry as a band and the new lineup was way better than I expected. Clem was sweet and hilarious and energetic, and the crowd went crazy once again....now w/ some crowdsurfs..(yikes). The platform was filled with people and I opted to step down because I was literally clenching my ass trying not to fall backwards. The one thing I didn't like about the venue was that the sound was pretty terrible. They did play a great set and were really fun, but the annoying moshers/crowdsurfers/kind of shitty acoustics made the show a little less enjoyable for me. I hope I get to see CG play in a better venue in the future once Apocalipstick comes out!
I knew literally nothing about this band before seeing them open for Slowdive in Boston. Only caught about half the set but I was blown away. Energy was off the charts. Tons of changes from song to song, but everything just had b*lls to spare. Best new artist I have seen in a LONG time. Hopefully big big things ahead!
Cherry Glazerr was phenomenal. The audience was friendly, inviting, and social and so was the atmosphere at the venue, which was Rough Trade NYC. They told assorted jokes and we all laughed and the setlist even featured songs from their debut, which was really sentimental for me. I'd definitely see them again.
Fantastic gig at Broadcast in Glasgow, crowd were up for it and so were the band! Irn Bru and Buckfast were chugged, people managed to crowdsurf under the low ceiling, the keyboard player went for Irn Bru driven number 2 in the middle of a song, all in all a great night!
Cherry Glazerr was awesome! She was energetic, lively, totally into what she was putting out there. A few of the hipster kids could've used showers before they went to the show. Great service from Scott our waiter, the rest of the staff at Schubas was also excellent.
Nice venue, and amazing performance <3. They sounded amazing and had great stage presence. There opener Pale hound were also really good and fit in with the vibe. It wasn't overly packed too, so it felt more intimate with the band.
Arrrrrrr. Wow. These kids are epic. Smooth songs with kick asre riffs, firing up to heavy licks in and out. One minute butter wouldn't melt on Clem, the next shes sreaming into your lungs. Go see them....now!.
Pretty awesome concert!! The opening bands were actually pretty good. The Cherry Glazerr merch was more expensive than I thought it was gonna be but other than that it was a cool show.
Cherry Glazerr rocked! The Syndicate Lounge is an intimate, laid-back venue. The band had lots of energy, good stage banter, and a good set list. I can't wait to see them again.
They were awful. The drums were way too high and it meant you couldn't hear the lead singer. Good stage energy but what's the point when you can't really hear anything.
