The fact that apart from Tobias Jundt, the band members are on a rotation scheme, I think is a very exciting aspect of Bonaparte. They’re incredibly well known for their expressive and original live performances, so I was super excited to see what I’d get! They opened the show with Jundt appearing on stage in a cape and bear’s head, before launching into an improvised rap welcome song to the audience. As the rest of the band came on stage, they were all wearing eclectic costumes, for instance the bassist had a lampshade on his head. They opened the set with Do You Want to Party which had the audience singing and dancing like crazy, and everyone was going wild for their bizarre costumes.
They put 100% into every second of their performance, and it became evident immediately why they’ve won so many awards over the years. They played predominantly from Bonaparte, but also played some of their older tracks from Too Much, which was a lot of fun to revisit! The two additional musicians were incredible and great at hyping up the crowd as well as Jundt, so the energy levels were insane all night.
