I saw the performance that Victor Wooten did with Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke back in the day, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, it was like watching them have a jam session. Victor Wooten is an extremely talented bass player from America, he's also a composer, producer, author and he's won five Grammy Awards, quite the achievement. He was actually named bass player of the year by Bass Player magazine three times, which proves my point that he's a talented guy. He joined Stanley Clarke and Marcus Miller in 2008 to make an album, and they went under the name of SMV and released 'Thunder'. Victor now has his own record label, which he still releases some of his own music through; the label is called 'Vix Records'. Wooten still plays the bass extremely well and looks cool doing it; he makes it look easy and is never seen to mess up. He is worth seeing play just to admire the skill he has, which must have taken a long time to perfect. He even released a book called 'The Music Lesson: A spiritual Search for Growth Through Music', showing how passionate he is about what he does, which is evident in his live performances.
The show was good as they are amazing virtuous musicians but the venue was disappointing because we basically couldn't see anything as the only people enjoying the show were the first two rows. The stage is too low and being a standing audience if you are just few metres away you can barely see their face. Tried the balcony view too, but no way you can get a spot if you are not fast enough.Too many tickets sold for such a small venue. What's the point to pay £33 just to have such a poor experience?! Never ever again. Wasted my money. Next time seated venue or..youtube. Ah, also...small bottle of Peroni £6.50, ridiculous.
This was an amazing show. First of all I had no idea how talented Sinbad was. He was funny and a decent musician.
The Wooten brothers and Bob Franceschini are world class musicians in their own right.
The show was an update celebration of funk hits that turned the show into a big party. So much fun.
I was hoping to hear more of Victor Wooten's stuff when I left home to the show. However the Funkadelic celebration was sooooo much fun!
My wife and I had a blast.
I hope they do this tour again
Any and everything that you may have seen of Victor on the net you would've seen it last night. Victor's known in the musician's world. He's a "Bass Master." He also brought along some of his students in his music clinic on this tour with him and his brothers and featured them on songs as well as some of their own compositions. It was a nice and educational show.
2/5. Went yesterday to his concert, it was expensive and he only played off an hour. I've been waiting to see this guy play for a while, and was willing to spend some money to see him. The venue in Manhattan (Iridium) is small and there a $15 minimum. I ended up paying $100 to see him play about an hour. They say never meet your heroes.
Opening band was horrible. Victor Wooten's show was far too short. I was ok, but needed a keyboard player and lead guitarist. I have followed Mr Wooten's work for decades and I know what he is capable of. I honestly felt he was looking for a quick payday. And for $60 I expected more.
Great concert! Victor is a genius with the bass and Dennis Chambers is incredible. The incorporation of technology added a nice layer of complexity which i wasn’t expecting. Loved it! I would see these guys again.
Amazing show. I've been glad to attend this concert. He's one of the best bass players ever... And the band is fantastic. His brother Reggie is a badass as well, drum and second bass player undescribable
Words do not give justice to a live Victor Wooten show, forget YouTube go see him. It was great to see Dennis Chambers again!! Bob Franceschini is outstanding as well
