Dom's Melbourne show at the Forum on the 2nd of Jan was my first time seeing him as I'd been overseas the last couple of times he'd come to Melbourne.
I had high expectations as I'd heard he has an electrifying stage presence - these expectations were far exceeded by the time I left the Forum on Thursday night. I couldn't believe how much raw energy he had on stage, and his interactions with the audience (including him coming into the mosh - with security - and singing for about five minutes) were fantastic. I managed to push my way to get about a metre away from him when he was in the mosh, which was incredible! Everyone was very considerate of Dom during this time which was awesome as everyone appreciated that an artist coming into the pit is an opportunity that most other artists don't allow! The audience reciprocated his efforts - everyone was jumping and screaming throughout the whole set.
Some of the highlights of the night were "Loner", where Dom emphasised that the BHC is a family where everyone can belong - you could tell, as always, that he was being sincere; "Braindead" which was performed with such high energy reminiscent of Arctic Monkeys (who I've seen twice); and "Machine Gun" brought the house down at the end of the encore, with Dom adding on a "f**k Sco-Mo" chant in response to our PM's response, or lack thereof, in regard to the bushfires ravaging our country at the moment!!
Overall, Yungblud has cultivated his own honest, unique persona which is the perfect balance between raw, political punk rock energy and relatable, deep lyrics (eg. Casual Sabotage). This concert was definitely five black hearts (stars) out of five - and I'll be first in line next time he comes back to Melbourne!
My first Yungblud show, and their first in Bristol!! Admittedly we did get there 1h 30m early but ended up spending 2h in the rain without a shelter or coat (mostly our fault but it still wasn’t pleasant). When we got in we warmed up while waiting to get merch. The support wasn’t to my taste but I cheered nonetheless! Dom was wearing a dress which was great, and he played every one of his songs, even a new unreleased one, so that was definitely worth it! Also the crowd was mental, moshing, jumping, screaming non-stop, even singing to the songs in intervals, and that added to the atmosphere.
All in all, exactly what I would expect, crazy, sweaty, and downright mental.
Opening act Arrested Youth is a high energy US band. Singer Ian escaped corporate America to pursue music and we are all better for it! Amazing messages, still selling their own merch. If you like 21 Pilots, you’ll love them.
Yungblud played in a small venue here. He’s extremely high energy, very interactive and also with no fear messages to spread. Extremely personable. Stayed way after the show to meet everyone. (So did Arrested Youth).
“Is everyone soaked? You should be, you’re at a Yungblud show!” Dancing and jumping at its finest.
My dad and i saw him in Orlando this past October, my dad is very hard to please with music and said it was one of the best concerts he’s ever been to. As for me it was the best concert i’ve ever been to. Something about Dom just makes it so special. He is always engaged in the audience and makes sure everyone is safe. When he played polygraph eyes live, i started crying. I hadn’t related to someone’s music that much since Lil Peep. I would highly recommend seeing YungBlud in concert, and i will most definitely be going to another one!
I had the opportunity to see Yungblud live in Den Haag. My expectations were quite high, I heard he gave a hell of a show. My expectations were exceeded. From the first second he walked on stage he managed to get the crowd along and this energy was not lost once during the concert. Enough room for moshpits but if you wanted to stay away from those it was also no problem. I would definitely recommend seeing him live if you have the chance, rarely have I seen such energy and connection with an audience.
A great gig. I think there could have been more warnings for the flashing lights- in case of people with photosensitive epilepsy, or sensory processing issues; related to that having ear plugs available might have been good as well, the gig was amazing, but the noise level that unavoidably that comes with it shouldn't be a barrier for people to enjoy and participate in a gig. All in all a great show, with brilliant energy; that could be improved by increased accessibility.
YUNGBLUUUUUD! So dope! He puts on a FANTASTIC show! He swears a lot but really encourages acceptance and love! Which I think EVERYONE could hear more of. He came into the the middle of the crowd and played one of his songs. It was so cool to feel so close to him. He signed a bunch of merch that was for sale and he also stayed out to say hi to his fans! He's a great guy and I really enjoy watching him do this thing he loves! I'll see him anytime he's on the east coast!
this was genuinely the best show i’ve even been to. the venue was a nice size, it felt intimate and definitely had a vibe. the fans were mental! lots of moshing but you all still looked out for each other. yungblud is such a good performer! he has so much energy and enthusiasm and it was honestly unforgettable. i love him so so much. it was just amazing. would definitely recommend anyone to go to yungblud! oh my gosh thank you so much... can’t wait for november!
yungblud’s brixton show was honestly one of the best shows i have EVER been too! i’ve seen yungblud three times this year (first time- electric ballroom in march and second time at reading festival), and the atmosphere that is created when he is on stage is amazing. I could not recommend him enough if you are someone who loves to jump around and have an amazing time. his music is incredible and he is so inspiring. 100000000000/10 experience. BHC forever

5 Black Hearts. Yungblud at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip was so raw, fresh and alive that I’m reminded why I love live shows. The energy and passion of the band and the fans was palpable. Yungblud is a talented group of creative enigmatic musicians with a bravery and honesty in their lyrics that is truly addictive. They attacking social issues headfirst and have a blast sharing their message. Don’t miss these guys.
