The fusion of genres is always something that interests me, and with Marteria, his crossover of electronic music and rap is something that I find really engaging and exciting. He has both a live band and a DJ on stage with him which provides a great mixture of musical techniques to create one unified sound. He also had backing vocalists who were creating sound scopes over his rapping, and also performing some great dance moves.
He ran on stage enthusiastically, and opened his set with Marteria Girl, and had everyone singing along right away. He’s an absolutely incredibly performer as well as musician, and he didn’t stop dancing and throwing himself around the stage for the whole show. He was incredible at interacting with his dancers and band, and it was evident that they all had a lot of fun working together.
At several points in the show, he called out to the audience, ‘is everyone having a good time’, and then encouraged everyone to sing along with his tracks, which of course went down really well. It was visually and vocally and instrumentally an incredible show with so much talent.
