James Lavelle is a busy man. Founding member of the seminal Mo’Wax label, an important figure in British Hip Hop and the label that released DJ Shadow’s seminal ‘Endtroducing…’ album, James has since gone on to collaborate with Shadow under the moniker UNCLE whilst still finding the time to produce film soundtracks, make remixes and DJ all the time. Like I said, a busy busy man.
His DJ sets are a mix of everything the man has been involved in, covering a variety of music styles all expertly mixed to make for a cohesive and entertaining set. Crowds flock to see the man behind so much of their favourite music working the decks and are rewarded with a mix guaranteed to have the bodies moving. Longtime resident of London’s Fabric, James has learnt how to entertain a big crowd and now can send people at venues like XOYO into states of euphoria just through the power of his Djing. Make sure you catch one of his sets while you can because soon enough he’ll be busy doing something else.
