I was so excited to hear that Montaigne was playing at the Oxford Art Factory. I bought tickets immediately and downloaded her album.
When we arrived we saw t-shirts for sale, ace, got one! Woodes was playing and then Beck came up next. Both were absolutely awesome and a good support which lead into the main show for the evening.
Montaigne came on with this gorgeous red valour coat, gold cuffs it was fabulously opulent. She has such a great look.
She started singing. Her voice is pure honey. She makes me melt when I hear her and seeing her live, I was weak at the knees...
And then the most unfortunate thing happened, something I did not expect nor could bear to watch. Her overindulgent behaviour toward the fans/crowd made me cringe. I thought she would be more down to earth than that.
Perhaps if she had actually won and ARIA or anything and had been around for a while maybe then... but really? really?
It was such a great disappointment, a real shame. I could not continue to watch her.
'Would you love me', no sorry Montaigne, I will not love you.
Cheers
Vanessa
