We were fortunate to be able to attend the transition festival in the magnificent Tivolivredenburg in Utrecht where the first of three shows got underway with the Metropole Orkest inviting Donny McCaslin, Jason Lindner & Ryan Dahle to help showcase the Blow record with the augmentation of a 60 piece orchestra accompanying them to give an incredible sound, only made better with the phenomenal accoustics in the Grote Zaal (large room) I was nearly moved to tears the whole spectacle was breathtaking.
They moved through Blow favourites like Club Kid etc but also added a few new ones created especially for these three concerts in The Netherlands, Swinging Back to you sounded incredible with the vocals of Dahle, the other highlights included an incredible version of Fast Future with Lindner blowing us away with his synthesiser and the usual Bowie coverage had Warsawa and Look back in anger to titilate the vast audience.
The whole thing was memorable.
