Biografía
It was when Lucy Rose Parton enrolled at University College London to study geography but she began to perform as a singer songwriter in her own right. She met Jack Steadman from Bombay Bicycle Club, and the two collaborated on the album “Flaws”, most notably on the title track, amongst others on the album. She featured also on Bombay Bicycle Club’s third album “A Different Kind of Fix” which Rose takes some backing vocals on the song.
2012 saw Lucy Rose’ career begin to take of in a very big way, as she started to tour the UK, the US and Canada with Bombay Bicycle Club. She even supported Noah and the Whale. It was also 2012, that Lucy Rose announced that she signed with Columbia Records. Over the course of the year she was recording her debut album “Like I Used To” in Warwickshire. She played Latitude, Y Not, Green Man Bestival and Reading and Leads Festivals in 2012 too.
Lucy Rose released her album “Like I Used To” in the latter half of the year on September 24th 2012. It was fantastically received as it had been promoted since the end of the previous year, with a release of “Middle of The Bed” and “Scar” being released as singles. The album reached number 13 in the UK Singles Chart.
2013 saw Lucy Rose embark on a European tour supporting Platinum selling artists Counting Crows. It was such a success, and she formed such a good relationship with the band that they invited her back out on tour the following year.
Críticas en vivo
Lucy Rose is one of those artists you listen to on record, and it's beautiful, and you think you'll know what you're going to get when you see her live, but you're wrong. It's so much better (so much better than already damn near flawless). So much more powerful, heartbreaking, uplifting, beautiful, faster, heavier, and about as charming and lovely and close to perfection as you're ever going to get. Having seen her do improvised sets in front of a rough 50 people in a tent, to a sold out Shepherd's Bush with stunning lights and all the glam, believe me when I tell you that the one thing you will always get at one of her shows is Lucy Rose giving it her all. Every song, whether they're from her debut album or unreleased upcoming material, you can tell she means every word. Inbetween impressive displays of talent and heart, she will never fail to make a connection with the crowd. You've been to those shows where the band doesn't give a toss, haven't you? And you can look past it if the music is really amazing. But if you have someone whose music is genius and who is not a dick but just a genuine sweetheart that can crack jokes like a sailor? Well. I think the choice's easy. Aside from the gentle ballads such as Shiver, and incredibly uplifting songs like Bikes, you also get some of her new material, which is beautifully layered - always with a sprinkle of heavy drum and guitar instrumental solos between songs.
There are few artists like Lucy around at the moment, and you should try to make the most of her being vaguely undiscovered so far while you still can. Make sure to scream and shout during the bit in Bikes. Make sure to say hi to her afterwards and fall deeply in love with the sweetest person you'll ever meet. And make sure to get some of her self-made tea - yes, indeed. Now, are you sold yet?
Lucy Rose performance at Kranhalle in Hamburg was truly amazing. "Place" was my favorite song. Lucy's vocals are just amazing. She is the best singer I have ever heard.
The venue was very relaxing and laid back. Her music really puts you in a good mood. Just hearing it is like a piece of heaven to the ears. There was different color lighting with smoke on the stage to give it a really cool effect! She played a large array of songs. Some were happy upbeat and others were slow giving a feeling of tranquility. It was a great variety of songs. She played 15 songs. It really keeps you coming back for more. The crowd was happy all night giving a louder applause after every song and never growing tired. To hear such beautiful music has made me a fan for life. I will be going to her concert next time she is in the area again. There is really no one like her with such vocal and beautiful songs.
The last song she played was "Don't you Worry". It was truly the perfect last song. It was a slow love song about sticking together, a really wonderful piece. I loved the whole performance. It was one great song after another, can't wait to see her live again.
Awesome show!
A nice mix of the new album and a few classics. Very intimate gig and lots of insights into the meaning behind the new songs and the influence her South American road trip/tour has had on her music.
If you compare this to the shy young thing that I first saw warm up for Bombay Bicycle Club 7 years ago she's come a long way. Her voice and music is just as amazing as it has always been but now she really engages the fans to make this a great experience for everyone there.
If you've seen her before, see her again! Each gig she grows in confidence and experience. If you haven't seen her yet then you're in for a treat.
Lucy Rose is always a joy to see and never disappoints.
The show at Cottingham Folk Festival was an acoustic solo set featuring three new songs and many favourites from the first two albums Like I Used To and Work It Out.
A laid back gig with Lucy asking fans for any requests which she beautifully obliged.
It is this simple wandering minstrel attitude, obviously loving what she does best, that makes Lucy Rose so utterly engaging .
Highlight ..just Lucy , her guitar ,and captivating vocals

Amazing, Lucy is very talented, sounding really good last night. Great set up (well done Mick Moggs and SDAC). Fantastic support acts. Lucy is a very nice person staying behind at gigs etc. I have seen Lucy 7 times now all shows were superb acoustic or with her band she always delivers. That's why her concerts all sell out! Watch out for Swampmother one of the support acts, also in Lucy's band, Again a fantastic night, well done to all involved.
It was a magic gig. Great venue, great atmosphere and the most important - absolutely amazing Lucy Rose. She has got the most beautiful voice on earth. I was able to buy her new vinyl 'Something's changing' - she made an effort to meet everyone after the gig and sign CDs, vinyls, t-shirts, etc. I am definitely going to see her again in November in O2 Shepherds Bush Empire.
She is absolutely phenomenal live! Sounds amazing and has a wonderful stage presence. Tells great stories and just seems like the loveliest person. Super grateful I was able to see her in a venue with amazing sound and respectful people who remained quiet and actually listened.
Cool venue made even more memorable due to Lucy's wonderful vocals and overall performance. Can't wait to see her touring with the full band although I would recommend seeing her in this stripped back mode to anyone who loves her albums as the songs are so different.
So good! Hearing the music life is zo much intenser... Also the forprogram was beautiful! The connection between the musicians was outstanding; pitty that Lucy did't referred to their names (wasn't thankful en respectful).
