Biografía
Founded in 2005 by Chris Cerulli on guitar and lead vocals, Frank Polumbo on guitar, Angelo Parente on drums and Kyle White on bass, the band had conceived of other names but settled on Motionless in White, derived from the Eighteen Visions song “Motionless and White”.
The genre of the band is not easily describable and probably falls into a fusion category, blending the raw fuzz and energy of metalcore, with the drama of gothic-metal along with a pop-punk element of some of Chris Cerulli’s vocals. Motionless in White has created a uniquely dark and affected sound and a unique fan-following to match, but influences can be seen in bands as distinct as Slayer, The Cure, Slipknot and Depeche Mode.
In 2007 with the addition of keyboard player Joshua Balz, the band released their debut EP “The Whorror” on the local label Masquerade. Shortly after band members Polumbo and Constanza departed from the group making way for Ryan Sitkowski and Ricky Horror, who are present band members, which allowed the band continue to release new material and get signed to their current label Fearless Records after a brief stint at Tragic Records.
Motionless in White’s debut album entitled “Creatures” was released in 2010 and introduced a wave of heavy-hitting horror, a bunch of breakdowns, where they grappled with their gothic, uneasy sound. The album charted at No. 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and No. 175 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. In between this release and their follow-up sophomore album “Infamous” released in November 2012, the band contributed to the compilation cover album “Kerrang! Metallica The Black Album”, covering the song “My Friend of Misery”.
In January 2013 Motionless in White announced a short tour for March along side bands Like Moths to Flames, The Defiled and For the Fallen Trees, after which they returned to the studio to record their third full-length album “Reincarnate” released on 15 September 2014.

On March 14th, 2015 I met my favourite band. Motionless in White. They mean so much to me and when my dad got me my tickets two months before I was the happiest person ever! So the day finally came and I didn't know anybody! So I was standing in line talking to my friend on the phone and I said 'dude I'm so lonely here!' And this girl next to me looked at me and said 'same here' and laughed and soon we became best friends. Her name was Rachael and then I met Juliana, Jt(a girl that's her nickname) and Elias! So the time came for us to go inside and meet MIW. I was so nervous! So sound check came and we got inside the venue. They played du hast and death march. Josh the tour manager was singing and it was hilarious! Than they did the Q&A and the questions were awesome. I had a question and Ryan called on me and I asked 'this question is for everyone, what is your favourite song from Reincarnate?' And Chris said wasp, ghost said death march and so did ricky and Ryan, and Josh said puppets 3. Than chris said 'what's your favourite song?' And I was like 'shitttt.' And everyone laughed and he joked around about it and was like 'I don't have one! Oh, track 6.' And he was kinda right contemptress is my favourite song! But I said everybody sells cocaine and he said I should help him sing it. Than we went to take a picture. Juliana was right next to me while Rachel, JT, and Elias were in the other side and middle. Juliana went first and I went second. I told josh I liked his shoes because they were awesome! Than I said I liked Ryan's shirt because it was badass! But then I didn't compliment anyone els because it would've been weird. So I gave them my phone and they took the photo I stood next to ricky and ghost because ricky is my favourite... But I was like 'thank you' and they were staring at me and I was so happy! Than I walked out of the venue and stood back in line. I saw Nikki when I walked out so I went and took a photo with him. At first he was sitting and then he stood up and he was so fucking tall! I was like 'holy shit youre tall' and he took the photo with me. Than I saw Sabrina(Chris' gf) we talked for so long and she was so nice and I loved meeting her! Than I met K for like the 3rd time we talked and laughed and we took prom pictures together. Than Ryan and ricky walked out of the venue to smoke and my friend JT and I were like 'I want to hug him!' So we went and hugged them. I only hugged ricky and the tour manager looked at me and I was like 'are you mad?' And he was like 'nah I just don't want a big crowd' so I hugged ricky and I thanked him for the picture and I was so happy! Than we waited for the doors and our tickets it was awesome. So Ice Nine Kills who played first and I was pretty close to the stage and Spencer got up on my face and sung to me it was awesome! Than New Years Day played and I loved it so much! I took an awesome pic of Nikki and it was awesome! So at some point Jeremy got near me and I told him I loved him and he did a heart with his hands and fist bumped me! I was soooo happy! Than For Today played and holy shit they actually were great. I some how got pushed into the front but idc I was like FUCK YEAH! So Mattie held my hand so many times and he looked at me and smiled which made me so happy! But before that when they were doing sound check the drummer was killing it and I told him he was awesome and he made the best face ever! It was hilarious. Josh Balz also crowd surfed and kicked my friend and went over me and I honestly didn't give a fuck. than MIW came on it was the best thing that happened! Ricky was right in front of me and I was the luckiest person ever. Some girl grabbed his butt when she crowd surfed and was on stage. He looked so pissed. But it was fun over all. It was the best day of my life.
Motionless was perfect, every song by them just hit almost everyone singing the lines. Came out with my neck hurting which is a good sign hahaha ears didn't actually go deaf for once which was weird and they didn't really bother with a mosh pit which was also weird.
And as much as I loved it, there seem to be something wrong with audio or maybe it's just there songs live you could only really make out
the words to the chorus and not the rest of the song, but when you know all the lyrics didn't really matter.
I honestly got money worth just from them playing Brand new numb and my fav out of all From beyond the grave death incorporated.
Defying decay the supporting band were pretty cool and even played faint by linkin park, and then there was the Band skold people may like this band but they killed it a bit and not in the good way lucky the song they do with motionless in white is still a really good combo by yeah really disliked them, plus something must of been really off with audio on them hurt my ears all through just like constant stinging pain which i have never had from a band. Not be able to hear and some aching can and does happen but never that.
Prompts to motionless in white trying to help out smaller bands but yeah i think skold honeslty ruined it for me. would i go again of course motionless was great but i would just have to hide when skold come hahaha. Defying decay i don't mind them heck might be going just to see them if they still support or something hahaha.
My friend got merch, this random girl gave people chocolate it was one hell of an experience. Hope they come back.
The show was the most thrilling, epic, awesome and beautiful experience of my life, I wanted to stay there and watch them play forever and never wanting to go home. Chris and all of motionless in white were especially were kind enough to give us the night we wanted from the moment we walked through those doors.I literally couldn't stop headbanging and bouncing up and down to every single song they played, while singing every song I could with them until eventually loosing my voices lol,but I stayed positive throughout the whole show no quires. The build up however was so thick, massive and emphatic in sound that made you wanted to stay longer for the rest of each supporting act before the main event, I was shaking in delight from the excitement and energy was beginning to emerged between not just the band but the audience too.Sadly, I couldn't make it until the end , which I am gutted about but I needed to an early train home, but I will never forget that day I saw my favorite band in the wouldn't. I literally couldn't stop crying the next day because I was happy to see them live for the first time and having it for my Christmas present
Motionless in White are a metal, death-core, screamo, post hardcore styled band with a twist. They have a gothic style and have a strong fan base, recently their song "Reincarnate" had become #1 of the metal iTunes singles, the band has increasingly succeeded throughout their journey, the singer known as Chris Motionless also worked with New Years Day to create a song with over a million views on YouTube called "Angel Eyes." The band have also done other collaborations to get a new perspective on their music. Motionless in White aim to make music to affect people emotionally, to look after their fans, the whole aura of the band is caring yet strong willed, they also aim to protect the ones that love their music. By far Motionless in White have really affected me more than other bands as I've learnt not to give the slightest thought about what people say about my style or my hair or any other things about me. Motionless in White's music makes the mosh pits better and more brutal with songs such as "Abigai"l and "Immaculate Misconception" and "She Never Made It To The Emergency Room."
I loved the show- it was absolutely amazing! The women on stage were gorgeous and a great addition to the show! The mosh pit...mmmmmm sooo good. I got smashed in the head. However the person did apologise. The nicest people were there. If anyone had fallen in the mosh pit they were instantly picked up.
Chris was gorgeous, though you shouldn't take your boyfriend to the gig cus he gets jealous when you admire Chris. Was a great show. Nicest people there. Like fam dingalingadongdong. Best night ever. They sprayed us with waterguns which cooled every1 down. And gave us free sweets and threw roses for us to catch. Was brilliant!!
motionless in white is my favorite band, so being able to meet them and see them live was breathtaking. when i went up to them for meet & greet, they were the most nicest, kindest and comforting people i have ever met. though nervous, i wouldn't take that moment back - never. they were also truly amazing live and put so much passion into their performance, which really paid off. although the night was long and tiring, i don't have any regrets for going to support my favorite band. it's been my favorite concert so far :).
I was so stoked to see Motionless in White and they didn't disappoint. They brought their A+ game.
I've heard some of their live music on YouTube and it just doesn't translate. It's incredible to hear live, especially while everyone else is singing.
The band acknowledged their 'style' was a little different than the rest of the bands at the Self Help Tour but that didn't stop them from blowing the roof off the place. I cannot, let me stress, CANNOT wait until I see them again. Amazing show!
Motionless In White were awesome but the sound quality let it down. I don't know whether this was down to the sound engineer or the headliners, Lacuna Coil as I noticed at their last gig, the sound quality of the supporting act was bad. Would love to see them again in their own right with the sound sorted. Lacuna Coil in comparison, sounded brilliant and I was loving the gig when it just finished - set cut short, a sad finish to what would otherwise have been a brilliant night.
We had a great time at the show. The venue is great, we always like Express Live events. Motionless in White put on a great show for their Graveyards Shift tour. We also got introduced to a band call Like Moths to Flames and we are now a life long fans. Can’t wait to catch them at ROTR. Every Time I Die played and we didn’t think to much of them. The other band was Ice Nine Kills and they were awesome too. It was a fun night!
Motionless in White does a great show. Only saw them play three songs though since they decided to not headline the show and have Beartooth headline. Awesome if you know that ahead of time. We drove 50 miles for three songs and they were done by 9:30. It would be good if they’d let fans know ahead of time. People work and have other things going on and carve out time to see them! Definitely bummed out.
