German symphonic metal supergroup Avantasia comprises of Tobias Sammet, Sascha Paeth, Miro and Russell Gilbrook. The four musicians have been making music together since the late 90s and have always seemed to have a very clear idea of where they want to take their music. Visionaries to some, the fans have endured the three year hiatus and numerous threats to end the outfit yet they have come through the other side appearing to be more dedicated than ever.
The band shows equal dedication, there is a great sense of a united front onstage and each musician compliments the other well without needing to steal focus. There is an energy surging through the venue as huge instrumental performances are met with raised fists and huge cheers from the ecstatic audience. Tobias taunts and teases the audience throughout the night in order to get the very best reaction from them yet still shows gratitude as they wind towards the final track of the evening, 'Lost In Space'. Now that the group is back on a solid and stable track, I would highly recommend going and seeing this band.
It was the greatest concert ever. we were very satisfied. 3 hours of metal... waaaauuu. allthough it was really critical at the time we got there. we came in time but almost didnt make it from the start. were standing in line for leaving our jackets when the band startet. an hour was NOT enough to get all theese people inside. there must have been many others who missed the first 2 or 3 songs?? and that is just not okey! We felt trapped and wantet ofcourse to se the whole concert from the start. so we left the jacket quee with our jackets... and stormed in for the concert as it startet. looking forward to the show in Bratislava 28 Marts:-D
Avantasia is basically music from another dimension. The quality of the songs, the variety of styles given by a group of very different singers and the feeling of Tobi with the public makes a concert of Avantasia something close to a musical than a rock band concert. Avantasia is also one of the very few bands that sound as well in concert as in a studio album.
Try with your friends the Avantasia challenge: ask them to find any song of them on Youtube and listen to it. No matter how much they scroll down, I guarantee all of them will like it.
This was my first time seeing Avantasia live, and was impressed by their enthusiasm as much as I was with their performance. The crowd was great, and showed much love for the band throughout the show. If they're ever in town again, I wouldn't hesitate to buy tickets.
This show was part of their Ghostlights tour, but they also play a lot of songs from their older albums. The show lasted three hours, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Simply amazing, breathtaking. 3 hours of show that leave wanting even more, amazing singers and really great acoustic.
The only bad thing I can say, is about the concert hall itself, that was rather cheap with the AC making it hard to stand for the whole show (all tickets sold, 3 hours of show and less than 10 minutes of AC in total)
But apart from that, I will definately repeat
I have no words!
Avantasia has always been one of my favourites bands and shows, yesterday it wasn't different.
Every song was pure magic, maybe the sound should be improve but I forgot those issues just seeing Tobias and friends on stage.
Even if you don't like power metal you should see this show since it is one ofe the best in the world.
Let the storm descend upon you!
Trust me, if you have the chance, go and see them, they are one of the best stage bands ever, lots of energy, excellent performances and a great show.
This was my second time and the only thing I regret is that I wasn't there when they came for the first time.
Amazing show! SOund was pristine, performers superb and the setlist acurate! The only issue was the size of the building...having an album top 10 in the spanish charts it shoud be foreseen that a huge amount of people would atend.
Such an amazing concert, it was heart warming and the show was so so good. I am so happy i went to it, it was an amazing experience. The band was so happy to be there and it you could actually feel it in the wat they played.
