Dale Watson

Dale Watson takes country music back to its simple roots, when it was a folk music that told tales of hardship and redemption, becoming an antidote to the cheesy, cliche country pop that dominates America's airwaves. Together with his band the Lone Stars, Dale Watson shows you how country is done right, displaying just that at his performance at Off Broadway in St Louis, Missouri. Watson certainly looked the part, dressed in in a stylish manner that was defiantly country. His custom made guitar was particularly eye catching, covered in various coins and other metallic trinkets. Not long into the show, Watson opened up the night to the audience, allowing them to make requests for which him and his band would play. This paved the way for a night full of fan favourites, from "Hair of the Dog" to "Silver Wings." Watson also played a number of 'drinking tunes,' most notably Merle Haggard's "Think I'll Just Stay Here And Drink" following which Watson laid down his guitar against his amp, signalling the end of a night that was full of delightful music and a spectacular performance from Watson and his band. For real country, there's no need to look any further than Dale Watson and the Lone Stars.

As a fellow picker, Weekend Warrior for 45 years, I Totally enjoy Dale as a musician and Entertainer. I only started hearing his music on Sirius last 15-20 year s. His stage persona is everything i hoped. I caught him 3 times in Baltimore/Wahington area. 3 completely Different Shows . One with JIm Heath, Then, he and Lone Stars, brought the Chickens to Baltimore, Then Va. with Ray Benson, just after their album. And I didnt mind waiting to get C.D. cover signed, something I never do. In a shell, His enthusiasm keeps me a Pickin, and Grinnin,

Every time i see dale, im happy and having a great time. He plays, sings, tells stories and knows like 100 songs that he'll play if you call them out.

This time he was also joined by Jim the reverend horton heat and they played both country and rockabilly together. So fun! This is a not to be missed tour.

Dale started playing at 10PM and played until 12:05AM. He did not disappoint. True honkytonk outlaw country music at its finest. As if this was not good enough, Dwight Yoakams band was in town and joined him on stage for a couple of tunes. What a bonus! If you get a chance top to see him, GO!!!!

Wow what a great show. Dale was fantastic and when Rosie Flores came up on stage with him it was magical. It was only better whe Dale, Rosie and Jim Heath were all on stage together. It was a lot of fun and just an overall great night. I hope they come back to Phoenix many times
