I could see how much the crowd loved watching Corinne Bailey Rae’s performance in London, and I was no different. Rae had a passion to her music that I think his hard to find. Her smile while she was performing said it all. She had a different energy than a lot of performers, but it refreshing and fresh.
As she performed front and center in the large city, I could tell what songs the jazz singer’s fans loved the most as they screamed during some of the choruses. I was inspired by Rae’s fresh take on music and performing. I wanted to pick up my guitar and start singing again. She hit all of the notes spectacularly. She sang with heart and soul and that right there proves her talent.
She also came across as a very kind person. She thanked people after her songs, when I wanted to thank her for her music. My favorite song of the set came early on in the concert. “Closure” had a very jazz feel live, more so than the recording. I like the mix of modern day music and jazz that was brought into the performance and a lot of people could enjoy her music because of the variety.
I also thought the stage set up was very interesting. The lighting also added to this. Every member of the band had light on them and the color of the lights changed with the songs. In jazz, instruments are a vital part of the show and it showed that they are valued because of the way they were on stage and the way they were lit.
Overall, I liked how calm the concert was while it did have energy and heart. I hope I get to see Corinne Bailey Rae perform again some day soon!
The venue was absolutely beautiful, weather was great for outdoors. Food and drink available for purchase, very classy venue. A very diverse crowd that made the evening fun. Corinne was AMAZING! Her voice is so beautiful and true. Even though it was on a Tuesday night, it was the best date night ever!!!
Corinne Bailey Rae is an artist that I have been waiting to see for ten years, and she blew my mind! I am so grateful that she decided to show at a small venue, it was very personal and just a dream. I do think I would have known own about this show without the song kick app, it's my new favourite app!
Corinne Bailey Rae is a songstress who was able to engage this mixed crowd of varying ages, gender and race. she effortlessly went through her repertoire inscribing all who were lucky enough to have present. it was like an exquisite meal with all the trimmings leaving you full whilst wanting more.
I waited 16 years (long story) to see her live, and it was worth it. I can't help but believe that seeing her now, in 2022, is a CBR at the peak of her powers for live performance. She has undeniable stage presence, and I had no idea she could actually project her voice like she did. What a night!
Extraordinary talent. Lyrical genius. Had a rare opportunity to have a conversation with her. After her show she was nice enough to take the time for a photograph with me. I will always treasure that moment. Thank you Corinne, Jon Hargis from Nashville Tn.
Did not like that the venue made me dump my bottle of water, especially given that the show started one hour late due to a power outage, and I got very thirsty.
However, Corinne & the band were awesome and made up for the inadequacies of Webster Hall.
Great Show and venue. Corinne Bailey Rae was great from start to finish. she is a must see. union transfer was very clean with nice priced drinks and great staff. Get there early for seating. Seating is on a first come first serve basis.
I wholeheartedly loved every single second of her show. I couldn't even dance to it because I couldn't take my eyes off of her. I'd do it all over again, whenever she's near me. The best thing I've seen/done since I moved to London.
