Biografía
Through the ’70s and ’80s, LRB enjoyed huge chart success with multiplatinum albums and chart topping hits like: “Reminiscing”, “Cool Change”, “Lonesome Loser”, “The Night Owls”, “Take It Easy On Me”, “Help Is on Its Way”, “Happy Anniversary”, “We Two”, “Man On Your Mind”, “The Other Guy”, and It’s A Long Way There”.
A worldwide album, CD sales, and digital downloads now top 30 million and LRB has set a record for having had Top 10 hits for 6 consecutive years - In fact, they were the very first band to achieve that remarkable status! According to BMI, “Reminiscing” has garnered rare status with over 5 million airplays on American radio, and “Lady” is close behind with over 4 million airplays.
Bassist/vocalist Wayne Nelson joined the band in 1980 and worked alongside founding members with some of the most distinctive harmonies and vocal abilities, creating the unique LRB sound. I 1981, Nelson was recognized by world-renowned Beatles producer Sir George Martin whom, while producing ‘Time Exposure’, chose Nelson to record lead vocals on two of the band’s biggest hits, “The Night Owls” and “Take It Easy On Me.” Later that same year, guitarist extraordinaire Stephen Housden joined LRB bringing a rock element into the band’s sound and helped contribute to their string of Top 10 hits. As band members departed, both Housden and Nelson worked together to bring LRB into the new millennium.
To date, lead singer/bassist Wayne Nelson has contributed his vocal and bass guitar talents on 22 Little River Band Albums/CDs. LRB continues to perform to sold-out audiences, and Stephen Housden continues to write and participate in all things Little River Band.
In 2004 LRB was inducted into the Australian Recording Industry Association Hall of Fame at the 18th Annual ARIA Music Awards and in September 2015 the band was awarded Casino Entertainer of the Year at the G2E Gaming Expo in Las Vegas Nevada.
Turning the page brings us to the current lineup of Little River Band…
Keyboardist Chris Marion is a Dove Award-winning producer. Chris is the creator of all the orchestral arrangements and charts on The Big Box. It is amazing to watch him play, sing, and conduct from his riser!
Lead Guitarist Rich Herring is a highly skilled player, singer, and producer of many Nashville artists…not to mention a great songwriter. He and Wayne have co-produced every LRB project since he joined the band.
Drummer Ryan Ricks has locked down the rhythm section and rounds out the vocals with his incredible range. Great singing drummers are rare…and LRB is lucky to have Ryan as part of that all-important vocal blend.
Nashville Guitarist Colin Whinnery plays rhythm and leads guitar, and shares lead vocal duties with Wayne. He brings a brand new voice and a fresh outlook to the rhythm section.
Early 2014 saw the release of Little River Band’s, ‘Cuts Like a Diamond,’ on Frontiers Records. “What If You’re Wrong,” went to #1 and stayed there for 3 weeks says Jim Shoe of CLASSX Radio. “Forever You, Forever Me,” and “You Dream, I’ll Drive,” both climbed into the station’s TOP 3.
In November of 2016, LRB released, ‘The Hits…Revisited,’ on World Records - a CD consisting of 9 re-recorded hits along with 2 new songs.

Bringing their vocal and musical energy along with great arrangements to their timeless classic hits, each show creates new memories for the audience. The band enjoys watching their fans fall in love with the songs all over again as they are swept up by the show’s powerful performance and the volume of hits from LRB’s history.
With 90 -100 dates scheduled for their 2019 tour, Little River Band is hotter than ever selling out shows and making music from coast to coast nationwide continuing their legacy of being “the best singing band in the world.”

Perfectly adequate show. Played the hits and it was a fun singalong . Since I took my wife for VAL Day , I was not a lonesome Loser ! But we did indeed enjoy 80 minutes of reminiscing.....
BUT
And its a big but
They are nothing more than a glorified cover band standing on the shoulders of the originals.
Its light years from the magnificence of the 70’s version but if u love the songs and can snag a ticket for $50 or less then WTF
Bring ur Lady and savor a cool change.
But , help is not on the way , in the form of the original voices and versions of these songs so many of us adored
But , alas my wife and I enjoyed ourselves despite all the caveats
And now she has a MAN on her mind ......
:)
Cheers
I live in Florida and I am a Disney World Passholder. On Friday, March 23 rd, 2018, I was so lucky to see three shows performed by my Favorite Band Forever! The Little
River Band played at the Epcot American Pavilion for three shows on this day. They sounded awesome and being in a beautiful venue at Epcot on a perfect Spring Break Weekend with perfect weather made me feel like I was on cloud nine! I love Rock and Roll and not many Bands can play and sing with the talent these guys have! Thank You Disney for hiring them and thanks LRB for your talents!
This show was seriously probably one of my most favorite of all time. It will definitely stand out in my memory and I will see them again and again when they tour to Florida. I also have told many people about it and am encouraging others to go see them if they have the chance. I took a friend of mine who really wasn't a "fan" and she really enjoyed it too. Everyone sounded great and the addition of the orchestra was so cool! It was so nostalgic and I loved feeling all those good feelings. Thanks Little River Band! Please come back to Clearwater, Florida!
The show was excellent and they even had a star selling tee shirts. The female lead singer of Starship featuring Mickey Thomas Stephanie Calvert is a phenomenal singer replacing grace slick so she has big shoes to fill. She does a wonderful job check her out on you tube. 2018 starship tour featuring Mickey Thomas The little River band played all their hits and I thought I was in the 70s and 80s again listening to my albums A wonderful job and I would see them again and again !!!!
LRB sang most of their hit songs from the '70's and '80's, plus a couple of Christmas songs, ending the concert with Silent Night with everyone holding tea lights. The crowd sang along with the group, and it was a very festive event. We all really enjoyed the evening. Sixwire was the backup band, a local band from Nashville. Sixwire has played with many major rock and country acts, and they were really fantastic! LRB and Sixwire made for a great evening.
I have never been more blown away than I was when I saw Little River Band live in the summer of 2015. The show was a high energy, perfect harmony magical trip into the past with the hits rearranged and freshened up so they feel like old friends with a make over.
On top of that they have some great new music that they shared that are hits waiting to happen. Would go back over and over again. They exceeded my wildest expectations.
Can't match the harmonies of the original lineup but it was an entertaining show. Guitarist needed more volume on his monitor too. I can see why Glenn Sherock is upset with this lineup being granted the right to use the name. Glenn was a good songwriter and a very talented singer and the current lead guitarist and rhythm player just can't duplicate the range of the original singers.
The concert with Little River Band at The Fox Theater in Spokane was awesome! Wayne Nelson rocked center stage with his singing and guitar skills. The other band members were spot on as well and brought back all the great hits for those of us in the audience, as well as some newer ones. What a talented and great group of guys! Would see them again in a minute.
Spokane Washington was Little River Bands first show of the New Year and they did not disappoint! Vocals and instruments were spot on and the show was filled with enthusiasm not only from Wayne Nelson and the rest of the band, but also from the audience. Great show and great venue! Would go back again in a heartbeat!
