She Wants Revenge always seems to have a cool, noir presentation to their performance. They dress in dark, suave suits and play a hauntingly, captivating sound in their music.
Whenever She Wants Revenge performs, chills go up the spine. Their music has a dark and eerie element to it, but their brilliance in songwriting keeps the audience fully enthralled in the performance. Their music neatly incorporates electronic music with an edgy rock sound. Their drummer mixes his drum kit with acoustic and electronic drums to get a wide arrange of sounds. The bass in the music is always in the forefront, providing the driving rhythm behind the music as well as creating some interesting melodies in a style similar to Joy Division. The synthesizers are always present in their sound, creating an atmospheric soundscape that hauntingly lingers in their music.
The lead singer, Justin Warfield, is completely captivating when he takes the stage. He is fashionably dressed, and delicately dances around stage in a theatric way while he croons his ominous lyrics to the audience. He has the kind of entrancing presence that is similar to David Gahan of Depeche Mode. It is an epic experience to see She Wants Revenge slowly build their music into intense sounds that have a strong impact. They often garner atmospheric sounds that are somewhat similar to the Bauhaus or The Cure. Their light shows often have a macabre appearance that nicely blends in with their music.
It is quite an experience to see She Wants Revenge play their music with such interesting dynamics to create that dark wave sound that is so captivating. The audience will be sure to be digging every moment of the concert and especially the hit songs like, “Tear You Apart”.
First band... Genesis something I think? Anyway, the music was decent but I didn't enjoy his stage persona. It was like laid back dark-pop but with a grunge-rave hype man in charge. Totally wrong idea for our crowd.
Second band MXMS was way more in sync with the audience. They played well, especially the drummer who was ON IT.
Had to drag some drunk idiot off the floor because he was "trying to start a mosh pit". Thankfully the bouncer handled him pretty fast after I explained. Justin was not impressed and basically told the guy to stop pissing everyone off. Some other lady was screaming at him during their set because it was her birthday. He had a snarky remark later when he thanked "the birthday girl with the perfect timing" to my amusement. The show went well a part from those incidents and everyone had a really good time. They were nice enough to meet people after the set and sign a few things as well. Great time, would see again.
I've seen them so many times and always loved their performances, this time was no different. Playing hits from their self titled freshman album like "monologue" and "Us", made this experience amazing as these are rarities in She wants Revenge's arsenal. With emotion filled dark tales of romance, I was taken down by Adam 12's rainy day anthem the instramental "Disconnect". Only to be lifted with Hits like "I don't wanna Fall in Love" and the fan favorite "Tear you Apart". Amazing show, I can't wait to see them again. I hope they will have shows soon!
Absolutely BRILLIANT – it was the first time I’ve seen them and was curious how they’d sound live. I was really impressed, the venue was pretty good, but the sound was incredible and I’m quite fussy and go to gigs every month. I Love She Wants Revenge and wish they would play more often, I would go again tonight if they were back in London. Excellent quality and vocals and tight little band, I’m one of those people that really appreciates it when they sounds like the record. Really excellent
Amazing show! The band is so talented and the venue (Sala Salamandra near Barcelona) has a great team and acoustic.
The memory I will cherish is how enchanting and seductive the singer's voice sounds (note that Spotify is not doing it justice, there the voice sounds just normal). I had flashes of other bands while listening: Interpol, Joy Division or The Smiths. It's a show I higly recommend and that I will ever be grateful that I got to see them. If you have the chance, don't miss seeing them.
I have seen, I believe every single show that she wants revenge has ever performed in Denver… I’m not sure how many times this is… but many times, this I know.
Their music literally touches my soul. They are Most definitely in my top 10 favorites of all time… That’s saying a lot considering there is some epic music out there! I can’t get enough of them. Please come back to Denver. I check the tour dates regularly to see if anything has changed. You guys rock my world!
She Wants Revenge is very much the Joy Division of our day only without the uber depressive attitude. They stand there, with a great stage presence, stoic in their attitude, playing their music clearly and accurately. They do have a few new releases, which sounded great, will hunt for on Spotify soon. Well worth the wait! Check their video and pics out on my Twitter page @AMMOPUNK!
Fun, no-nonsense Goth show. The band sounded really good, and churned through their greatest hits set without audience banter or an encore--which is the right way to do it. Loved it, and very glad that SWR reformed last year and gave us all an opportunity to see them live.
Every bit as good as I expected. Played the entire debut album and the crowd was into it. I think everyone in the place was dancing to the music. A personal favorite of mine is "Out of Control" and it didn't disappoint! Can't wait until next time!!!
