35 Years and still sounding great
This gig was so popular that it had to move to a bigger venue and there wasn't one disappointed person in the hall.
Oran Mor is a great venue with great acoustics and to open the gig a local band, Trongate Rum Riots, who had the crowd going from song one and well warmed up by the end of their energetic set.
The Men They Couldn't Hang opened to the strains of The Crest, from 1988, and they blasted through a great set of mostly older stuff that everyone knew every word of. When they did their old 'political' standards, Shirt of Blue and Ironmasters, it was just as well that the hall was under the old church as it kept the roof on the hall.
An uproarious evening from start to drinks in the bar with the band at the end and a few days before my throat and ears recovered BUT I will be back next year to do it all again.
This is the first time I have used Songkick and it worked like a dream from the ease of buying tickets to the notification of the venue and time change it could not have been any easier and I will be using it again.
Stunning anniversary gig from TMTCH, opened with The Crest, moved into a couple of tracks that are underplayed at gigs, Homefires & Great Expectations.
The guys then really kick into gear ending on Ironmasters, before coming back for a tremendous encore which included No Man's Land and of course Ghosts of Cable Street.
If you've never experienced a TMTCH gig, I would urge you to do so.
Roll on next year for the annual return trip to Glasgow.
Been going to see them for over 25 years and they are still my favourite band of all time. Down to earth, funny and fun. LOVE them. Very underated! They also take the time to say hello and make you feel welcome Everytime i see them its like seeing someone you love but can only see now and then. Always in my heart. Definate soft spot for these guys
I've seen The Men so many times I've lost count. They never disappoint, tonight was no exception. A full set of almost all their best tunes, nearly 2 hours of joy and the crowd singing along. Rebel Rock at its finest with a nice touch of anarchy (provided by Cush). If you're thinking of going, don't hesitate and get a ticket. It'll be worth it.
