Biografía
Prior to forming Blasterjaxx, DJ and producer Thom Jongkind performed and recorded under the moniker Scalix. Following an urge Scalix wanted to form a DJ duo and subsequently set up Blasterjaxx with another producer, however the project soon folded and Jongkind continued the Blasterjaxx name. Idir Makhlaf, who had been performing under the name Macosta had collaborated with Jongkind on a number of occasions previously due to the pair’s shared love for music, and officially joined Blasterjaxx in 2012.
The same year the duo released their debut EP “Reborn” introducing to a wide audience their progressive, big-room, electro-house sound. With the help of producer D-Rashid the EP featured two singles “Reborn” and “Where We Go”, which earned the attention of Laidback Luke, who signed the tracks to his label Mixmash Records.
2013 brought a whole-host of single releases for the EDM duo including “Faith” which became a huge charting single in the Netherlands and Sweden, “Puzzle” featuring Quintino, “Fifteen” the popular Hardwell edit, “That Big” and “Snake”. On top of this Blasterjaxx produced their “Loud & Proud” track with Billy the Kit, and was later approached by Tiësto to sign the track to his label Musical Freedom. Subsequently Tiësto asked the duo to produce a remix of his tracks “Adagio for Strings” and “Love Comes Again”. Due to these releases and support from the like of Laidback Luke and Tiësto, Blasterjaxx has earned the additional support from esteemed DJs including David Guetta, Afrojack and Nicky Romero.

Having recently seen Blasterjaxx live, I think it's safe to say I'm not going to forget them in a hurry. They are made up of 2 Dutch DJ's/ producers called Thom and Idir. They started in 2012 and are touring at the moment and I would gladly go and see them again. They weren't like any other DJ duo I've seen before, they managed to create something unique and the light/ special effects show they had on made it like being part of a giant rave, not one person was standing still when they came on the stage. They have collaborated with the likes of David Guetta, Afrojack, Nicky Romero and many more well known names. Their single 'Faith' did extremely well in the Netherlands and Sweden in 2013. And they were named number 71 in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs. When they were on stage they communicated with the audience by getting us to put our hands up and prepared us for the bass drops when the whole crowd went crazy. Everyone knew the songs they were remixing so we were all singing along so loud that my throat hurt, I could imagine them being amazing to see at a festival and I'm definitely going to look out for them again in the future.
