Críticas en vivo
Been a fan of Haken since couple years ago, back when I was still in Indonesia, seeing the band live was a great addition to life experience. Kudos to O2 Academy, such a nice and intimate venue.
The gig was, unsurprisingly, pretty neat and flawless, especially Raymond behind the kits. Ross's top notch performance was another highlight, with a warm and cordial interaction with the crowd, such a loveable persona.
The only thing that kept bugging me during the show was the (un)clarity of the guitars' sound. I could barely hear the Richard and Charles soloing, which was an obvious shame to miss. But after all, enjoyed every other bit of the action.
Maschine brought a great performance too, but unfortunately the man behind the drumkits seemed to be a bit struggling with the (setting of the) kits, missed couples of the beat. Leprous were all out too, performed well. Just their avant garde-ness is not my cup of tea.
Looking forward to enjoying the next repertiore of progressive-esque music!
I was mesmerised, the band were amazing. The lead singer was great, full of energy and style, but it was as much about the rest of the band as it was about him. They were all seriously impressive and seemed to genuinely enjoy it. Even the bassist occasionally stepped out of the shadows and delivered some genius contribution, much like Richmond from the IT crowd! The final song - spoiler alert - was a cover of Africa by Toto, felt more like an 80s power ballad night than a rock gig, but everyone was joining in, even the support bands got on stage for that one. In short - awesome, great atmosphere, great gig.
Flawless performance by great musicians.
Higlights for me were 1985, The Architect, Atlas Stone and Visions.
Haken will be at the top of the Prog Scene for the next decades.
Mixed feelings about the support acts.
Really liked The Algorithm with their mix of rock/metal and techno. Will check them out in the next few weeks.
Next to None has some potential but is still a bit immature (which makes sense because they're quite young). Music is quite good, songwriting needs some improvement.
This show was off the charts!
The setlist was very well designed, there were no lulls, I was engaged from end to end.
The band are just as good live as I'd hoped, musicianship at top of their game, easily comparable to Dream Theater with far less years in the business.
The sound at The Zoo was okay. Not amazing, but enjoyable. It was a bit too loud for the venue, and some frequencies were piercing.
Don't miss Haken if they play near you!
Haken was an amazing show. Three albums and one EP later the band finally made it to america... And what a show it was! This group is technically proficient, has a wonderful singer, and (if you are a prog-head) will fill your cup. The sound ranges from Tool to Gentle Giant to Jazz fusion along with sprinklings of other prog sounds but uniquely their own. Prog fans will not be disappointed to see this supremely talented band live.
I had a great time at the show in Orlando last night! Haken rocked, and Leprous was really good as well. They make a great co-headliner.
My only complaint is with the sound mixing. The vocals and keytar were very low in the mix, so I had to pull out my phone at several points to decipher the lyrics. This may have been a drawback of the venue, which was mostly concrete walls. Other than that, the band was fantastic!
Awesome setlist! For such a small venue, sound was pretty good! Haken were great. Everyone was on-point. I was pleasantly surprised with how great Ross was live on vocals.
Only complaint was the venue was like a sauna!! Unbelievably hot in there. Had to step out several times throughout the show just to feel like I could breathe!
Haken was amazing though. Super fun show. Can't wait to see them again!
THEY WERE FANTASTIC! So energetic and just fantastic! They sound so much better in person! The only problem is now I don’t want to listen to the songs they played at the concert because it was so good that the recordings will sound bad. I’m kidding, but they really are fantastic 10/10
One of the very best shows I've ever seen.
Their cohesion, musical et technical level are amazing.
Do not miss the VIP tickets if you can arrive early in the afternoon, you will have a chat with these nice and humble guys who just play the best prog music of the decade...
