Doors opened at 7:00. I got there at 7:00! Show was to start at 7:30.
They didn't start til after 8:00 pm.....was it a ploy to get people to drink more? No seats of course. I expected that. But by the time the show was over, we had been standing until almost 10:00 pm. An on-time start would have been more.....well......considerate. What was the big deal being on time? One played the guitar. The other sang.
Enough said about that. Otherwise, it was an experience I will never forget and have been telling everyone I know the same. I loved the pre-show banter, teasing the audience about Hamilton, this and that. Nice touch. Posting the live performance on FB was great as I had that to show my friends and family.
It was my first Choir Choir Choir, and Hamilton's first. I hope they come back.....
Thank you for the opportunity to provide this review.
I took my teenage nieces to a show at Lyric Opera in Chicago. We had a blast, it was so much fun. Everyone there was so friendly and happy to be engaged in the singing. We learned some pretty good harmony for two ABBA songs and also sang three more, warming up and cooling down. The show started within 10 minutes of schedule. It lasted just around 2 hours. There was very little seating, so comfortable shoes are a must. Talent not required, though it is helpful that you like to sing. No one is singled out so there isn't anything to be nervous about. It's just great fun.
We sang a Queen song "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in Thousand Oaks, CA in 2018 and I had a blast. We were sorted into vocal parts -- high, low, middle -- within the parts we were mixed males and females. If you go with someone, keep that in mind -- you might not be standing together.
I was fortunate to be at the very front. Also, I wished I'd brought some water or throat lozenges -- with all the practicing, by the time we were ready for the final version my throat was sore.
All in all, it was a fantastic experience.
Last night was so much fun. To be honest I was a bit worried with singing a JB song, I'm not a fan. But the arrangement and singing it Choir form made it fun.
I have nothing bad to say and hope that both Daveed and Nobu continue to bring the joy of Choir song for decades to come.
See you next time your in Vancouver!

These two are really fun and to have them teach me the harmonies and then to (try to) sing with David Byrne was so surreal and so fun. I had missed them at Newport and at Ardmore so this was super new and incredible. Then the Madonna sing a long with dancers on the balcony of the Public Theater mezz. Wow. Thank you! Ron
Awesome show !!! They are so funny and the singing is always amazing ! This was my second time seeing them and certainly will not be my last !! I brought a friend who had never seen them and was unsure about what it was about. She loved it and we both had a great time !!!
