Kiefer Sutherland in concert was worth every single penny of the ticket price, and probably a little extra too. For those wondering if Kiefer Sutherland, well known actor, is worth showing up for for a /singing/ concert, look no further for an answer: it's a resounding yes. With a debut country album, Kiefer came out looking and sounding the part, performing most of the songs from his first album, along with a few covers from artists who inspired him growing up, such as Tom Petty's "Honey Bee" or Bob Dylan's "Knocking On Heavens Door". Not only was the music good, Kiefer interacted with the crowd, introducing the songs he wrote with the reasoning behind them, creating a personal atmosphere and allowing the audience to see a whole other side to the A List Actor. His supporting band were just incredible, Austin Charles and Michael Gurley on the lead guitars, Joseph De La O on the Bass guitar, and the passionate and talented Jess Calcaterra on the drums. They worked well together, and you could sense the family-like bond that they had whilst performing on stage. Performing a couple of songs from the up and coming second album, Kiefer and his band left the audience wanting more, and will almost certainly pack a fuller house on any future tour dates over here.
The show was great and we really enjoyed hearing the songs live, Keifer was just as good live as he was on the album which was great. Loved the version of Knocking on Heavens Door which was a nice surprise and especially loved Shirley Jean which is a very poignant and thought provoking track.
as it was such a small venue a few of us waited outside hoping to meet him (although the venue staff kept telling us he had already left!) but when he came out he literally just ran onto the tour bus which was a shame as there were only about 40 people still there.
However with London as it has been lately perhaps there was a security reason that he didn't want to say hello so we will give him the benefit of the doubt.
There were a lot of people there who had clearly just come to see Kiefer and didn't know the music nor were they country fans in general so the gig lost a little of its atmosphere due to that but otherwise it was great.
thanks for a great night
Another great show with the one and only Kiefer Sutherland. Thus ends our 3 day road trip of ATL, Florence and Nashville. It was amazing such a great time. The real coup de gras was that after 3 days of Kiefer not really connecting personally with an audience member. That all changed last night. While telling his story of growing up as a child in Canada that there are 2 artists you must listen to or you will get your ass kicked (literally). He says one is "Rush". Everyone cheers. Then, he stopped here to point to someone in the front row and he says "this gentleman here knows I'm not singing Rush" then of course everyone has a good laugh. Then he says the other is Gordon Lightfoot. Oh BTW, that person down front was ME!!! The perfect ending to an amazing road trip. Thank you Kiefer. You Rock!!!
A frankly uninspiring venue was adorned by the superstar actor in his alternative role ass band leader and song writer, the later obviously dear to his heart. A packed venue reverberated to Country Rock and ballad by the vey much at ease front man. Perennial moan though - a pleasant but not powerful vocal and between song links were drowned out by the chatterers at the back. And mad ncomfortable by the constant tooing and froing in the crowd. Why spend over £30 for a gig and talk right through it?
A super band too was not a surprise. Worth the effort but overcast by presumably celebrity watchers.
It was FANTASTIC!!!! Couldnt have asked for a better 1st concert experience than you!! Also a great treat to start our honeymoon. You were all AMAZING. Such a talented group & your work...singing,acting,writing, guitar playing...the list goes on is MIND BLOWING!!! Loved the whole show, every song was grand like all ur work & i got great souvenirs!!! Sorry you couldnt sign my ticket or CD,but being that close & seeing you live was a dream come true for me & my husband. Hope to see you next year to!!! This will be a night/performance we'll NEVER forget. Thank you, your band & Jergel's!!!!
The man and the band surpassed all expectations on Thursday night at the Assembley Rooms, Islington. I was nervous beforehand how the Hollywood actor would go down but I needn't have worried. He was an absolute legend and the whole audience thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Great mix of his own music and some covers with a very professional band people were dancing and singing away. I couldn't have enjoyed it any more than I did. It blew my socks off and can't wait for the next tour to do it all again!
Kiefer rocks!!
As always, a great show - Kiefer never lets you down. Even though he is not feeling 100% at the moment, he still gave it his all. His mix of songs and storytelling is so engaging, especially the stories about his Mom and how the movie Bridget Jones’s Diary inspired him to write a song.
Unfortunately the venue was horrible and we were rammed in like sardines. The lighting wasn’t great and the facilities were very poor.
Looking forward to Oxford next month.
This was one of the most enjoyable live performances I have been to in several years. The anticipation and atmosphere were electric and Kiefer and his band certainly didn't disappoint, even with the unbearably high temperatures. The performances were intense and seemed to be personable to those who were there, which I think the smaller venue helped with. The new material that was played was fantastic and I cannot wait for the next UK tour! Bloody Amazing!
Great Show from Kiefer and Twinnie . Klare Empfehlung
As always a perfect and emotional concert From Kiefer, ive always been a fan but since he got into music professionally I’m all in for this guy, he love what he’s doing, he loves music you can tell, and enjoys performing and being close to the fans. I’ve seen him twice and I hope I can see him again cause he worth a 7 hour driving and every single dollar spend in a ticket just to listen to his music live.
