No doubt my favorite show of theirs on par with the one they did back in January 1994 when they opened for the Cocteau Twins in Paris. Seefeel's sound is very intense. They played "Quique" in its entirety along with a few encores. Their live sound mixes the sweeping guitar tones & loops of "Quique" with the heavier sound of their current line up (featuring Shigeru Ishihara aka DJ Scotch Egg on bass and Iida Kazuhisa on drums). Even though Seefeel were fantastic, it was particularly thrilling for me to see the band Insides (Kirsty Yates & Julian Tardo) open for them that night. Insides hadn't played a gig since 1994 and had already shared the stage with Seefeel (as Earwig) 27 years ago almost day to day! The music of Insides is hypnotic and uncompromising, Kirsty's lyrics always direct & true and it was wonderful to be able to hear these songs live. They played most of their 1993 album "Euphoria" and a new song as well. Their performance was like their music, full of warmth & honesty. For me, this is a music that makes you feel the presence of every (love) life you (could) have had in the sweetest possible way. I hope they will come back soon. Don't get me wrong: Seefeel were great, but Insides' performance was very special. One night to remember.
