I had previously seen Leif open for the magnificent Gregory Alan Isakov in April, and decided to attend his show when he returned alone this November. Usually I wince through the support act, but this guy intrigued and impressed me enough for me to attend his own show.
He's a great live performer - engaging the audience both through his music and making jokes between songs. A shy yet subtly charismatic individual, he played a good setlist, which mostly majored on his newer work but incorporated a couple of older tunes as well. He does use a fancy keyboard thingy as opposed to regular piano when playing live, which is a little different to the sound of the album but still pretty good and seems to fit his style very well.
I'd recommend seeing Leif if he's in town - solid live performer with a distinctive and unique style - and it'll probably only cost you a tenner!
