Fantastic show! The Beatles catalogue was treated with respect, but not slavishly. The playlist was very well selected. Most songs were excellent or respectable live versions of studio tracks. Only one or two fell short. The only real disappointments were the performances of Because and Sun King - probably due to the difficult vocal harmonies. On the other hand, the performances of such tracks as Something, Yesterday, Oh! Darling, Sgt Pepper's / With A Little Help From My Friends, Here Comes The Sun, and many, many others were stellar. All of the performers were brilliant, including (maybe especially!) the ones that are not leading the bill. I was particularly impressed with the "second" (but actually leading) drummer Gus Franklin, whose playing style replicates Ringo's perfectly, and Darren Middleton, whose vocals and guitar work was spot-on all night. However, the real highlight was the otherwise slightly uneven Davey Lane's truly outstanding performance of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, which left many in the audience transfixed. 5/5 stars.
